Raptors lose to Blazers 109-98

The Raptors drop their 5th game in a row, 109-98 to the Blazers. The game wasn’t even as close as the score may indicate.

Predictable 3rd Quarter Collapse in Sactown

Were you content after the Laker loss and thought that since we hung around the champs for four quarters, the next night in Sacramento would be rather easy? I mean, linear thinking dictates that if you almost beat a really, really good team, you should be able to pummel a really bad team, no? NO!

Triano shuts down Jack – again

Make no mistake, Jay Triano did all he can to help us lose this game. He subbed out an on-fire Jarrett Jack with 1:15 left in the third and brought him back with 5:52 left in the game, by this time the Raptors’ five point lead had vanished.

Out-worked by a team out of the playoffs

We had everything to play for but got outworked by a team that had nothing to play for. That is very difficult to both understand and stomach given we’re in the thick of a playoff race and just had the Bucks leapfrog us for 5th place.

Thank you John Hammond

Thank you for relinquishing two players with oodles of potential without practising some due diligence. Thanks for not exercising some caution when dealing with a GM who has hoodwinked so many in the past. Thanks for helping to inject some much needed youth, athleticism, and hustle into this lineup. Even if these two players ultimately don’t pan out, at the very least, thanks for helping us win tonight’s game. You had everything to with what transpired tonight.

DELETE FROM MEMORY WHERE GAME = ‘TORONTO VS HOUSTON’

Part of me wants to put a bullet through my brain than write this recap but have you seen the price of bullets lately? Hopefully you turned this game off after halftime because it stopped being a family show after that. The Rockets were spanking us by 21 at halftime and the game was already over, but the Rockets had had a very miserable evening in Utah a couple nights before and they wanted to erase all memory of that, so we were forced to take it deeper than we’d prefer.

Ball-handling at its worst in Thunder rout

Very disappointed in our PGs, not because they got torched by Russell Westbrook – that was to be expected – but because of their inability to control the tempo of the game. We don’t want to go up and down the court with a team like OKC, nobody does, but some measure of control needs to be exacted by our ball-handlers so that the game is played in a framework that could yield success.
