  1. Steve B. says:

    2nd Qtr:JG,JK,CH what a joke!?

  2. nunya says:

Kapono only comes into the game to foul or turn the ball over…no wonder Doug Smith thinks so highly of him.

  3. chris says:

So much for not blowing 1st half leads.

  4. MoneyCarlo says:

Sub of Ukic last 3 mins of the game = coach’s DUMBEST decision I’ve seen so far this season, even stupider than Mitchell’s collapse vs Nets. U have no confidence in a player that just brought you the best win of your career?????

I bet Roko was like wtf??? U let me play whole quarter, I do what I do and when the game gets decided u pull me out? thats total fuckin disrespect first of all and from a basketball standpoint, idiotic.

Solomon melted under pressure like a hot pocket. I’d rather have him start the quarter and then eventually evaluate if he should stay or not.

Raptors had this W in their pocket with Roko on the floor.

man…This team needs a serious makeover, overhaul , flip this house, something. from head on..

    • Arsenalist says:

Gotta agree with most of what you’re saying, there’s no reason Will should be in there given how well Roko was playing.

On another note, Jamario Moon’s perimeter defense is laughable. He might come up with a good block on occasion (against Rashard Lewis) but 90% of the time he’s making the stupidest mistakes that reflect how flawed his defensive game is, at the SF/SG.

      • MoneyCarlo says:

Dont get me wrong, i’m starting to like Solomon a bit…nowadays hes more relaxed and with no pressure he’s dishing shooting and actually looks decent at times on the floor …today he played a good game but he’s a first and a third quarter man, not a decision maker @ crunchtime.

It’s just funny how hes 31 or something and in basketball IQ rookie Roko seems much older.

And maybe its not all about Ukic or Willie, other people should step up but PG is the head of the snake when the game is getting decided, so I will maintain that with roko this was a W (the guy is considered somewhat of a crunch time man in croatia and euroleague)

btw, Moon is a community college kid so enuf said about his ball savy.
He only cares if he gets a couple of dunks in the game but who cares if they win .

  5. verbatim says:

and there goes the Orlando win.

we get a great game from Bosh and Bargnani, and we still find a way to lose. Can we get a rebounding #3? This will not work. And those of you who thought that the team is better off without Calderon: well, this proves it. Salomon just couldn’t pass up the shot attempts. Crap.

  6. verbatim says:

it is official: if we move Bargnani, I will be pissed. I have come to love sometime VL, tonight Il Mago.

  7. nunya says:

How many times does this need to be said?? This team will not go anywhere without All Star talent at the wing/guard.

  8. Andiamo says:

    turning point in the game.
krapono throwing the ball away, then, instead of shooting a 3 steps in for the travel, then fouling redd with .5 on the clock.COCKSUCKING MOTHERFUCKER.
time to be critical of jay, bargs was smoking 1st qtr,he sits whole 2nd till 2 minutes to go,lead lost, hes now cold.then,WTF IS KAPONO OUT THERE FOR.obviously he’s told he’s being shopped and is giving us nothing.and then pullin roko to go with an ice cold 1 for 10 will?WTF….MAN IM PISSED.another god damn wasted effort by bargs n bosh…pathetic.

  9. nunya says:

He’s out there because Parker needs a rest…it’s a back to back and Parker is old…in case you hadn’t noticed (or believed the liar that is Colangelo), this is not a deep team….

  10. Arsenalist says:

I swear man, that Charlie Bell three late on was the reason why the Raptors are so bad. There’s no reason for anybody to go under a screen or trail him on that play, you know he’s looking for his shot, either switch or fight through hard. Don’t just play into his hands.

That play Andiamo is talking about describes Kapono to perfection. He had a wide-open look which was not going to get blocked no matter how high the defender jumped, he opted to not take it and step-in for a two and traveled. Just a dumb play that I can’t even explain, whatever happened to him just letting it go when he’s open instead of trying to create. He was doing that in the first couple games Triano took over but he’s reverted back to norm. He usually runs a good two-man game but that pass to Bosh was just plain bad. It was like something you’d expect from Will Solomon.

Jamario Moon’s defense is what’s bugging me most about this loss, his lateral quicks are shot, he’s too eager on the perimeter and is just not a smart basketball player. The only thing he does reasonably well is read the passing lanes and even on those he ends up getting burned. The fact that a guy of his caliber is starting for the Raps is shameful and does not speak of a team that’s trying to give the impression of being a contender.

  11. Statement says:

I’m glad people are recognizing how bad Kapono’s play was. That guy was AWFUL today. In my opinion he cost the Raptors the game. Why was he on the floor for so long after so many consistently costly mistakes? I would have taken 48 min of Joey or Jamario over that turd.

  12. PapiJulio says:

    The Raptors…

    -Shit The Bed…
    -Laid an Egg…
    -Screwed The Pooch…
    -All Foam No Beer…
    -Fell Asleep at the Wheel…
    -Couldn’t Float The Boat…
    -Bobbed Instead of Weave…
    -Couldn’t Find The Hole…

Missed Most of the Game because of The Junior’s…!!!!CANADA GOLD!!!! But I had a feeling they’d ‘Blow their Load’….

  13. rc says:

We had 15 turnovers compared to the Bucks’ 11 turnovers, and Kapono was responsible of 5 of those alone. In 16 minutes. In fact, he’s literally had more turnovers this game (5) than he’s had 3 pointers in the last *6* games (4 of 14 dating back to the Portland loss). Seems like Kapono caught whatever disease Bargnani just (hopefully) got over.

  14. David Moro says:

    Kapono must never play again.

    Not. a. minute. more.

Where the fuck is a lead pipe when I need it?! And I argued for this ponce to be the starting 2? God help me.

  15. rc says:

and also they gotta be smarter. It’s all well and good to protect the paint, but who are you protecting it from when you’re playing a Bogut-less Milwaukee squad? I’m not sure what the stats are, but how many times have we given up more than 10 3’s a game lately? Even the Houston game, they shot something like 27 3 pointers, and we were lucky they only made 7 of them. It’s like Russian Roulette man, every game with this team and the 3 point line. And sometimes with a team like Orlando, you have no other choice, but why do that to yourself every single game, regardless of who you’re playing, regardless of the circumstances?

  16. Andiamo says:

arse, anybody who wear a headband over one ear like that has got to be a reject.if i was his teammate im sorry but id be like,”umm hey jamario, you do realize that you are a grown man looking like a fucking jakoff with your headband like that,u realize that right?”……jamario is probably throwing off his equilibrium and playing worse cuz the bitch is off balance with one ear slightly blocked….stupid fuck.

    • Raptors2009 says:

ROFL at the equilibrium being thrown off…Somebody make this the Rap of the Day.

We played like shit for a lot of this game but the refs also screwed us over. That Solomon tie-up should’ve been a jumpball and they gave the Bucks a timeout after he fouled Solomon. Kapono’s foul on Redd was BS, I counted at least three touch blocking fouls and they they messed up the Elson play where it went off his foot. That was crucial cuz they scored on it when we should’ve had the ball. Not saying the refs cost us the game but they didn’t call it fair.

Roko not being in there for the final 4 minutes is bewildering me. What did he do to piss Triano off? At least we saw what Hump can do, I just hope I don’t see Jake and his white trash headband for another 5 games minimum.

    • WSG says:

Maybe something’s messed up with his ear.

  17. 3q4yasry says:

if the team trade Barney away, I’ll be really pissed.

  18. Dave says:

    That was a disappointing game.

The Raps had three leads at 13 points, 10 points and 11 points …. they just couldn’t manage to either hold the lead or push the lead whenever they got up there. It’s tough to win when you’re giving up leads like that throughout the game.

Bargnani and Bosh combining for 52 points on 19-27 shooting was brilliant. They gave the club a great chance of winning. Pity they didn’t receive enough help. The bench (Kapono, Graham, Voshkul) hurt.

Odd note - Bargnani had 8 rebounds in 37 minutes, five of those came in his first 8 minutes of the game so he had 3 rebounds in the next 29 minutes. He always seems to get his rebounds in his clusters, one good stretch or quarter and then very little the rest of the way.

If my memory serves me, I think Milwaukee pulled down the final six rebounds (last two minutes) of the game to seal the win. Disappointing to get out-rebounded by 5 to a squad that is missing it’s best rebounder, has it’s second best rebounder give a bad rebounding performance, and has it’s third best rebounder play only 11 minutes and get only 1 rebound. Mbah a Moute did step up though.

Anyway, disappointing game. The Raps should have won that, they created enough opportunities to do so.

  19. yertu damkule says:

good point(s), dave. it’s always interesting to break down numbers to see not only what happened, but when, which is usually more critical. like, take the orlando game. VL had 18, and a very good overall game (esp. for him), but he didn’t score after the 6:00 mark of the 3rd quarter. i’m not sure how many shots he took, but it wasn’t many (if any) after that point. it’s weird, he starts off hot, and i just want them to keep feeding him, let him fire away until he gets cold, but don’t just go away from him. he’s got that ‘look’ back, where he’s not thinking about screwing up or missing shots, he’s just doing what comes naturally. when they’re struggling to score, like last night, at the end of the game, i don’t see why it doesn’t make sense to run the O thru him, and work it from the outside in…if he’s open, take the shot, and if not, a quick swing & dump in, try to catch the D late rotating.

the last 3 minutes was a complete cluster-fuck. i don’t know why roko was pulled, unless triano thought he was getting tired (he did have a pretty bad TO right before he came out), but still…he’s 23, had played very well, and you’d like to see how he’d respond to back-to-back late-game situations. i assume triano wanted to have better shooters out there to spread the floor, though JK hasn’t done anything over the last week or so to warrant any PT. he’s far & away their worst player over that stretch. BC must be pulling his hair out, ’cause J-killa is killing his trade value.

back to VL - a few more outings like his last 3, and i’ll be more than happy to retire ‘VL’ for good. even though his trade value is likely the highest it’s been in quite some time, w/ JO being out & bargs getting some consistent burn/touches, he’s showing what he’s capable of. it was disheartening that the same old problems seem to resurface in any loss (poor perimeter D, rebounding in the crunch), and he’s partly to blame, but still. with a healthy/productive JO, i’d still look to move bargs, but only if they could get back an impact wing, since that’s still their most glaring hole.

  20. khandor says:

This team SHOULD be making zero [0] deals at this time … except, perhaps, if they can acquire more useful players in exchange for Jason Kapono and/or Jermaine O’Neal.

Making the wrong move, at the wrong time, has been a major problem for the Raptors, and many of their vocal on-line fans, since the day they chose to run Wince Carter out of town unnecessarily.

Sitting tight, right now, is what a TOP NOTCH President/GM would [should] be doing with this team, not wheeling & dealing [i.e. panicking as the bottom is falling out of the stock market].

  21. Pizzaman says:

Trading bargnani right now would be a disaster. He’s 23 and signed for a couple more years at least, and is getting better all the time, and most teams have no answer for him. His game compliments Bosh perfectly.
That said plain and simple last night they wasted great games from Bosh and Bargnani by putting Solomon in to finish the game, and Moon’s horrible defense and offensive production. Bosh and Bargs were on fire and no one passed them the ball when it mattered. This loss squarely on Triano for bad decisions.
