14 Raps
someone might want to put the standings in from of zach. to say that the raps have ‘separated’ themselves from the likes of CHAR & MIL just sounds silly, seeing as both have been playing better than TO of late.
i’d also be curious as to what zach is basing his ‘what i’ve heard’ info on re. bosh leaving. say, what he’s ‘heard’ from the typical gamut of blabbermouths & blowhards on ESPN/SI?
not sure if its clear from the question I asked- but we were talking about US media and the stories circulating around Bosh. Just thought it might be good for Toronto fans to get a sense of what the talk is outside of Jack and Leo.
as for Char and Mil- Milwaukee is on fire- you are right, but I think talent wise and even play wise Toronto is clearly the 5ht best team in the East. They played that way in Jan Feb- the question now is will they play that way again.
so, the US media is supposed to have greater insight into what’s rattling around in bosh’s head than guys that see him almost every day? weird…
and yes, they playED that way in feb. and there have been glimpses of it recently, so they could recapture some of that form.
buuuut…we’ve also seen them cough up big leads all season, get down big all season, and be inconsistent all season; in fact, each & every player has been, for the most part, inconsistent. i’m not necessarily worried about the raps missing the playoffs (CHI seems to be the odd team out), but i take serious debate that the raps are BETTER than MIL or CHA at the moment; given MIA’s schedule (total cream-puffery), i wouldn’t be at all surprised if they snuck ahead of TO. i think it’ll come down to TO & CHA battling for 7th.
the raps may (MAY) have the 5th best roster in the east, but they haven’t been playing like it.

I think you are correct about Talent. Raptors have much better talent than Mil and CHA but in terms of Coaching and heart/desire, we are behind both of those teams.
lol @ all it will take to get Nocioni out of town is a protected 2nd round pick
I would soooo make that deal.
what, BC hasn’t traded away ALL our picks?
lol!
There are some things about the NBA I just don’t get:
1) Raptors fans infatuation with Nocioni
2) Al Harrington’s head
3) Why Indiana doesn’t sell out more often
4) How Brian Hill still has a job…any job
5) Why Bill Walton is in the Hall of Fame
6) Why a game is 2.5hrs long
7) How come Seattle doesn’t have an NBA team
8) Why LA has two teams
9) Why halftime is so long
10)Why the Raptor use the same production team for every channel..
there’s more too, but I’ll stop…
1) pigmentation + perception of hustle = hogtown hero
2) lol…wtf ARE those lines?
3) the crazies (tinsley, jax)
4) the NBA has a highly advanced recycling program for garbage?
5) the most uniquely talented big man ever? it IS the basketball HOF, not the NBA HOF…
6) TV + overcoaching + too many timeouts
7) david stern
8) because it’s LA, BABY! you need the yin/yang of super & shit…
9) ?
10) $
11) why it takes a full 90 seconds from the time a shooting foul is called to the completion of 2 FTs…and that’s without a substitution. seriously, i can hit the ‘skip ahead’ button (i watch most games on a slight delay, so i can skip commercials – the skip ahead jumps it the length of a commercial, or 30 seconds) 3 times for each trip bosh takes to the line. watch an NBA classic game sometime…dudes are done both in like 15 seconds. this might relate to #6…
12) how come gary payton doesn’t have his own reality show. it would just be him in a room saying shit, and the objective of each episode would be to guess just how much he had to drink beforehand.
13) what is it specifically about devlin that makes me want to punch him in the back of head? i think it’s the constant reference to bosh’s double-doubles or twenty-and-tens. you’d think it was the most impressive thing going. that, or the 3-pt streak.
14) Why can’t we have 1 and 1′s for FTs…
15) Why does the Magic court look like it’s been put bought at Home Depot…
16) Is there a reason why Dennis Scott is on TV?
17) Why do fans show up to the Knick games..
18) Why isn’t Rashard Lewis better?
19) How could the NBA allow a team to be named after a guy called Bob..
20) How come Jerry Sloan hasn’t won COY yet?
`18)well rashard had to spend his first 10 games in vince carters rehab centre for promotional purposes… he looks alot smaller this year..
21)should Sam cassell be awarded the ugliest player in professional sports *award?
22)should Baron Davis be awarded the “there-there” award?
23)Will Paul Peirce ever get called for sticking out his knee?
24)Should Dwight’s elbow get consideration for playoff mvp?
Im 50/50 Calderon, Im ok with trading him, and i’m ok if he stays. I think his trade value is a little under his contract, but when he signed.. he signed below his worth. (at the time) Through Defence exposure, and lack of a decent backup. I do want a better point guard, but Id rather have Bosh and Calderon(/jack) then have Chris paul and West. (though chrisx2 is a dream.. and only a dream) Fixing one position will only expose another. Bball is an athletic game, Steve Nash hasnt won anything, neither has Allen Iverson. I’d want a more Athletic ball carrier, and a more athletic small forward, for the Raptors. But who was unexcited about the Hedo signing? I thought it was the best thing ever. Just hasnt panned out yet, But the touches are a big thing. Put the top ten scorers in the league on the same team, and they wont all score 20+ points. Put a dominating player around hedo, and a 3 point shooter, and he will score his 16-18 points. We lost our 3 point shooting. Antoine? Bargs? Calderon? Jack? Bosh? yeah they hit.. but they arent career shooters…(HOPEFULLY BARGS :D) I wouldnt mind Kevin martin, but ive never scouted him, but id welcome change pending this seasons outcome. Gotta love how teams change up for publicity’s sake, were not the only team, and im sure our “toxic” contracts will be edible at seasons end.
Gazzed out ..???!!!!
