A few weeks back, Raptors Republic rolled out user forums as another way to become a one-stop shop for all things Raptors related. Some readers raised their dislike of blog comments being the only place they could speak their mind and having their viewpoints lost in a wave of 148 comments didn’t sit well. To be honest, this stopped some from commenting. The feedback prompted a move to bring on forums, giving users a place to speak their mind and have threads associated with their thoughts and their detractors.
One of the goals of the leadership team here is to amass a group of people that are the best at what they do. To that end, sometimes we get lucky. We have always been big fans of RaptorsForum and how the day to day operation worked there. Plus after attending training camp, we were big fans of the Ottawa area. When we heard rumblings that one of the guys was leaving RaptorsForum, we needed to put on our fancy dresses and start the wooing process.
Well, thankfully Arsenalist was able to squeeze into his pumps and RapsFan used his makeup talents to make him all attractive and such like. With that, we are proud to say that Doc Naismith has decided to jump aboard the good ship RR. His primary focus will be the forums, but his wealth of online experience will be a great addition to updating the look and feel of the site as a whole. You need to pop over to the forums right now and take a look at what he has done in a short period of time. It bodes incredibly well for the future and has already turned one doubter into a believer.
There are a few more additions (and subtractions) coming your way from the site, so keep your eyes peeled. The team on the floor is off to a good start and the team at RR is just getting started.
Welcome, Doc.
9 Raps
RR just got more awesome.
+1 Great stuff Doc.
I think the forums are a great idea. More focused/specific topics discussions than a comments
section can provide. Great addition to Raptors Republic.
Thanks for the intro Alt and thanks for the welcome guys. I’ll try my best and that’s pretty much what I’ve been doing over these last 9 or so years since my introduction to message boards/forums.
Would also like to take this opportunity to thank the wonderful owners, staff and members at RaptorsForum. They’re a fantastic Raptors community that I’ve made alot of friends with over the years and they’ll continue to grow moving forward.
So that being said, I’m trying to get things moving in the RR forums and as things pick up we’ll be looking to add other members to the staff as moderators for the forums. So if you have any questions or suggestions please don’t hesitate to contact me via private message at the forums or email at doc at raptorsrepublic.com.
Thanks again for the welcome and I look forward to helping Raptors Republic become the be all and end all of Toronto Raptors fan sites.
Cheers guys
