  1. Dave says:

    Nice work phdsteve, enjoyed that!

Chris Bosh trades — I’d only be willing to part with Bosh if a comparable or better
elite talent (All-NBA level talent/prospect) was coming to Toronto. I’m not
interested in any package that offers a 2-3 good-to-very good players (like Deng,
Thomas and a future first). That’s not worth giving up a player of Bosh’s ability.

    • skip says:

I don’t know the answer, but, do you still think it’s not worth it if Bosh is likely to bolt
anyway? OR– Aren’t Deng/Thomas/?? better than nothing? I hope Bosh Stays but
I hope he doesn’t get a max contract, unless maybe he keeps his current pace for
      the rest of the season.

    • Marz says:

Bosh is an all-star no doubt, but a Deng/Thomas/??? is pretty good value for him.

      • Marc says:

That trade is pure shite. Deng is a quality player, but Tyrus Thomas is a
        career-long bust in the making.

Not to mention we have absolutely no room or need for a starting quality
        SF like Deng

  2. You forgot Kwame Brown in your #1 picks that weren’t serviceable.

Completely agree about how Bosh tails off after the first month, hopefully
    this year will be different.

Also agreed on Wright, teams are sagging off of him and he’s
misinterpreting that as a good shot. This needs to be fixed, we saw this
with Moon too last year and it was the death of us in more than a
    few fourth quarters.

    • @RapsFan says:

Bosh tailing off after the month in years past has had more to do with the lack
of talent around him then his own ability. He comes out strong, teams make
adjustments to reduce his impact, the rest of the team isn’t able to pick up
the slack, his performance suffers as a result. Laying the blame on Bosh is ridiculous.

      • verbatim says:

We are already beginning to see quick double teams as soon as he gets the ball,
and possible fouls being committed to keep him off the block.

  3. MC B-Rad says:

hey normally not a hater, but man…that was the lamest podcast i have listened to on here…normally i think they are great to listen, whether long or short, 2 people or more…but…..

seriously…what was with the fake sex telephone operator voice?? was the whispering to make you sound more intelligent?? is that a doctor voice?? did you learn that from grey’s anatomy??? and whats with hot or not?? seriously am I watching fox at 4 in the morning?? or is this a facebook application???

only redeeming quality that i think i might enjoy in future podcasts was the bosh trade question…one suggestion…can you put a poll up for each of the possible trade targets??? see how the republic would vote for each scenario you will bring?

    • RagingRaptorZzZzZzZ says:

      I completely agree

this pathetic podcast was truly a waste of time…..

Raptorsrepublic just isn’t what it used to be

Personally, I’d like to see more from Arsenalist and less from his LAME supporting cast

    • Nick says:

      terrible pod

change up the voice and try not to sound like youre out of breath

    • Nick says:

Edit- Agree with Raging, Arse puts up some really good insight that I wouldn’t have usually thought of.

His cast brings up dull boring issues or simply raging opinions based on emotions.

HAS to be a franchise player?

More like you have to be lucky and there has to be one in the group. I also don’t believe Roy is a franchise player.

Not to be a dick, but you just continue to repeat the same sentences for the first half of the pod. You make statements that are not necessarily true and easily refutable. Please back these up with statistics and numbers to sell the listener and to make what are you saying believable.
      /end rant

    • phdsteve says:

sorry you didnt like the podcast. it is what it is. Ill work on losing “my sexy voice” for next week.

As for polling the republic I think that’s a great idea! Arse can we get on this?

      thanks.

  4. WestHam4Ever says:

Bang-on about Wright. Just because you started in Dallas doesn’t mean you’re a good player, he’s a role player at best. Could even say he’s a fringe NBA player who hung around the last couple because of Dallas’ talent. 29% from threes and he’s taking 9 shots a game? His D against Spurs was terrible and so far he’s only played well against the Bulls.

Some posters here rip on DeRozan but at least the rookie plays within himself. Unless Belinelli and DeRozan are getting abused on D, Wright’s got no business being on the floor.

Sidenote: Tell Arse his team sucks balls.

  5. Tau Epsilon Nu says:

Bravo, Bravo don’t let the nay sayers disuade you from future podcasts – its entertaining with enough content and humor that people will continue to tune in, I know I will.
Keep piling it higher and deeper.
If Bosh must go than the bulls offer could work if BC can choose correctly between NoJo and Ty.

    • Les says:

Agreed re: the trade. IF we are giving up Bosh, we should be getting Deng, Noah, and a pick. Screw the Bulls if the don’t like it. They didn’t want to part with Deng and Gordon for Garnett 3 years ago and they realize what a mistake that was.
