Let’s not forget how Smitch was blamed for everything. The players were simply victims of his incompetence. Triano does/could do the same things, and it will be everyone’s fault but his. Disgusting.

Really when a rookie can not play decent defense(especially when that player is over-sized for his position – Derozan is 6′7) when he is a 4th to 5th option as a scorer(which will mostly happen on decent teams), that rookie needs to be yanked. Triano and Bryan take note.

The Bulls might actually shoot career highs for 3 ponters against the Raps. It is the Raptors, Rap fans, “where giving unknown players and teams career highs, losing to teams without starters and making the impossible happen in the NBA”. Lol.

Chisholm’s always good, I find. He sure knows his stuff. He makes a good point about DeMar DeRozan as well. I’d like for the offense to make better use of what he can do.

The bulls are not great on offence so they will not be a true test on our defence. On the other hand, this could allow us to start on executing simple but solid defence in preparation for the future. No need for fanciful stuff. Just simple and solid.

Should we score well and win, we must not let that distract from our efforts on developing the defence. We should never accept poor efforts in defence, winning or loosing, shooting well or not.

I too am perplexed at the quick hooks of the rookie. I know he can’t defend, I see that. But it seems he is out there and does something pretty good and gets yanked. I think he blocked a shot just prior to leaving in the first quarter on Monday. How would Triano defend this approach? I mean, he also has to lern defense too doesn’t he? I mean, on top of all that, surely he also has more energy left than all the others.

JR (call me Earl) Smith played his first game back from suspension last night and went 1-9. No big surprise but if he had been hitting, the game v the Bulls would not of been close.

The Bulls weakness is a Raptors strength – Bomb away Raps, bomb away!

Great comment by Chisholm on Marco Belinelli . Hopefully JT will not have him sit on the bench too long (he can play 3 positions). Him and Andrea together should demolish that Bulls defense by simply firing from a distance.

Remember the job of the other coach is to break down our defense, teams are finding it easy to do so on the perimeter. A lot of that is due to our approach.

We can’t expect our players to be super human, and be everywhere at once.

Generally, that is the way basketball works, you swing the ball around to shift the defence and find a weak point of attack.

I believe in the KISS approach, keep it simple stupid, if the players continue to blow assignments, than the strategy has to change to suit them… not the other way around. A plan that fails to be executed day to day, is not a good plan at all.

We are facing the Bulls, probably the worst 3pt shooting team so far into the season. That means we should be okay, or are they do for a good perimeter night because they are facing us? I guess we will see…

For a team that continues to harp on defense we are getting horrible results. We are the worst in the league at contesting the 3pt shot. Yes, of the 29 teams out there, none are worse.
