We just can't snooze on this Detroit team. Orlando was off, and they lost. They couldn't control the dribble penetration without fouling.

The only thing that can stop the Celts this year is themselves. They are an older team, and as Popovich knows, you can't play 110% a whole season and keep enough in the tank for playoffs. I expect that signing Rondo was huge, because when the older guys slow down, he will be able to keep up a constant threat.

Rudy Gay at 12 mil a season is a bit much. If someone wants to pay him that much fine, but the 5 year 50 mil he was offered is in line with what he brings to the table.

Also, this is definitely not the same team as last season. But the scariest thing right now is Boston's defense. They're holding opponents to under 80 points a game, and they're hoping to be the best defensive Celtics team in their history. If they keep this up, they are almost certainly in line for a 70+ wins season.

This is not the same league that it was last year. OKC gave the Lakers a run for their money in a close OT game. New Orleans is having trouble keeping up, and Paul is unhappy. Arenas is playing like an all-star again.

There is the cream of the crop, no doubt. L.A., Orlando, especially Boston, I think. etc... But the other tiers are way more competitive this year. We can't take Memphis for granted, or OKC, or a lot of other teams. Raps need to think they must win every game they play, or else they just might fall behind.

By the way, what the f**k is Memphis thinking? Not extending Rudy Gay? Think how good this guy is, and young. Man, any way the Raps can get this guy? Clearly he is undervalued on that team, meanwhile Bargnani got an extension off the bat.

If I'm not mistaken, and I might, if Memphis were not so dumb, they could start:

Mike Conley
Rudy Gay
O.J. Mayo
Pau Gasol
...any other centre...probably still could have gotten Marc Gasol.
