The number of rebounds Derozan (which he did very well) has nothing to do with how well or poorly Bargs was rebounding...rebounding is Bargs biggest weakness but if you think after watching that game that he rebounded poorly then, well, no need to watch the games and just check the boxscore.

no, he's a 7 foot centre who actually spent more time in the post last night than at the arc.

Like I said, if you'd bother to have read it: "DeRozan, a 6″ shorter wing playing rookie, had as many rebounds in 6 minutes less."

Keep in mind, on top of being a 7 foot centre, Ab is also a 4 year pro and DeRozan was playing his first game. Bargs is a crap rebounder, it's his biggest weakness but the rest of his game looked great.

Marcus Banks actually played pretty good D on Mo during that 1 minute span. Hes a decent defender, however still not worth his contract.

I don't like him either. He is so egotistical and while he is a great player and an amazing athlete he is not and will not be Michael Jordan. He is who he is because he's a very good basketball player who has the athletic ability of a guard in the body of a power forward. He's strong as na ox and he also gets every stinkin call ever which diminishes his stature with me at least. If this league would demand all players be treated the same from their officials and not tolerate abuse he would be a star but still rank behind Kobe and Wade as pure basketball stars, and still way behind Jordan. I really loved watching Bargnani take it to him last night and couldn't believe the assinine calls LBJ got especially the clear charge on Bosh that was called on Bosh instead. The refs ruin this league.

only when lebron gets a triple double..... or kobe drops 81.

nice to see them off to a solid start on defense. if they play down to memphis tomorrow, last night's win will have been in vain. i hope they do not play down to lesser opponents this year. triano said that the players got together before the game and set the tone for how they will come out and play the entire season. i hope we see a sense of urgency night in and night out.

I kind of enjoy reading his take on things and sometimes even his outright diatribes. When he makes sense, he makes a lot of sense. When he doesn’t, he’s probably just hammered. And even some of those times (hammered or not), he makes me laugh. Just hope he doesn’t wait ‘til the first loss before showing up again. (where are ya, FAQ? I know you enjoyed last night’s game as much as anyone else did. It’s ok to say so. Lol.)

Actually, let's give credit where credit is due: his attitude has really improved through the last 3 or so days.

He even said yesterday that he was feeling like we had a good chance to win this game (before the game started, I mean).

And I dully poked fun at him for being a tribal honking fan!

Tonight Bosh was GREAT. He was the Team USA Bosh we all gawked at a summer ago and energized his team and led by example with intensity. I would much rather have Bosh average 18/13 than his usual 21/10. When paired up with Bargs he doesnt need to worry about carrying the team, just cleaning the glass like a champ to make up for Bargs poor rebounding. Turk also did his part with 12p/7reb and Derozan had a very respectable 5 rebounds - most of which were stolen/highly contested clutch types.

True about Jose, but it is a trade-off with him. You get SOME easy points here and there, but you get SOME more turnovers if you go for the risky passes.

I actually think that he is doing a good job of pressing a bit more than last year.

Also, remember what Triano said in an interview: he wants to push the tempo, NOT rush shots (i.e., not run-and-gun). If they can get into a great position because they ran up the court, they can sometimes take their time exploiting that advantage (rather than forcing the issue early in the shot clock).

Actually, I don't remember seeing a single shot-clock violation by us last night, which means our offense never stumbled to that point.

If we count 2 free-throws as a play (I don't remember if Bosh or Bargs had any And 1s), then here are some stats:

- Bosh took 23 plays to get to 21 points (in 40 minutes).
- Bargs took 17 plays to get to 28 points (in 29 minutes).

- That is akin to Bosh shooting 45.7%, and Bargs shooting 82.4%.

If Bosh's percentage was at least in the mid 50s, he would have probably received a 9 or 10 rating. Either way, he did a solid job and stayed aggressive most of the night.

I think you are right, and that is why I think the organization feels good about this contract right now. It is very long-term, and quite decent in cost per year.

We will have him going into his prime, when he has the potential to be a $16+ million player (per year). If he continues to develop and improve for a few more years, that contract will be looking nearly as good as those of young stars on rookie contracts.

How many true rebounding opportunites did he miss or allow his cover to grab?...not many if any. He was average like just about every other player on both teams not named Bosh.

I REALLY hope the team is not looking ahead like you (but that IS the tendency after winning a big game).

I think these games against lower ranked team will be VERY important for us; we still have a lot of learning and gelling to do as a team (and by "we" I mean "they", of course :P ). The Raps need to take those opportunities to get not only much needed wins, but to improve and polish up their game.

Either way, Sunday is likely to be a reality check for us (because Orlando is deeper than the Cavs, and not playing the Celtics the night before).
