I honestly thought you might be a writer in Toronto FAQ! You fit the bill perfectly. You have excellent writing skills and a wonderful vocabulary….and most of all you know next to nothing about basketball. You would fit right in with those guys who are still trying to convert over from Hockey…

I’ll let you know how the game goes tomorrow but if you want to fit in with Doug Smith and that spineless little drip with the beard you will need to talk to Charles Barkley and Chris Webber for your
“Expert Analysis”.

I think that was part of what FAQ was saying; The Cavs are more vulnerable right now than they would usually be (back-to-back game, plus still trying to integrate 2 starters).

Mind you, so are we (trying to integrate… everyone, into a new system no less). But playing Cleveland like this, and Orlando without Lewis to start the season (with Memphis sandwiched in between) is at least better than playing them in mid-season form!

News flash!

Cleveland Cavs were the best regular season team in the league last year and beat Toronto by an average of 18 ppg.

If Toronto has a great season this year they’ll win 15 fewer games than the Cavs.

Therefore, Cleveland needs to be tired, Toronto needs to play well, and the Raptors outside shots better be falling. A little luck wouldn’t hurt either.

Winning or losing against the Cavs tonight doesn’t prove anything.
But it should be fun to watch.

WOW!!!!! …. Toronto sports writers must be reading this fine blog, and in particular my postings … because they are echoing my very words … in fact they are even using my vocabulary like … “disparate”.. “rose-coloured” .. “chemistry” … so the memes are working in the minds of sports writers who resist being t.h. fans … and broach reality.

The game today will determine if the Raps can rise to the challenge of playing against 2 former players, Parker and Moon … and if they can take advantage of a Cavs team that is having chemistry problems with Parker and Shaq in their starting lineup.

Tough, lockdown defense on LeBron and holding off the rest of the team with decent defense. Of course the Raps will have to shoot the lights out too … good luck because they’ll need it …!!!!!
