According to the box-score Bosh took full advantage of Al Jefferson’s absence and had himself a monster game.

30 Raps

  1. FAQ says:

You are totally dense, arse … because there was no
need to play Bosh in this game ….!!!!!

BC is shopping Bosh by playing him 36 minutes. He
wants Bosh’s stats padded as much as possible to
make him look good now. BC wants to trade Bosh
    … so obvious.

    • Marz says:

Yes, that’s exactly it. Bosh is being shopped by demonstrating what he can do in a
preseason game against a project bottom-feeder team that’s missing their star
      forward.

I hope that was sarcasm FAQ, I really do.

    • poiter says:

I could not agree more, only a complete and utter idiotic mindess vegetable could see
that BC is going to trade bosh. By playing Bosh, he is letting the millions of people
who tuned into this absolute season-defining blockbuster see how good he is.

      • FAQ says:

Marz and poiter …. BC isn’t going to invest $130 Million in one max money player
in the Toronto bball market … that would be stupid !!!

Look at the Raptor’s salary data … BC has locked in several players for the long
term, and he doesn’t have cap room to offer Bosh anything near max money …
        so obvious.

Meanwhile look at the salary data on the NYK … they don’t even have a team for
the 2010-11 season with so many contracts ending after this season.

Only a donkey wouldn’t notice how other big market teams are positioning
themselves for the 2010 max player bazaar … and the MLSE has already
revealed their long term strategy … no max money player for the Raptors…!!!!

Bosh and his agent can see this too, and they are preparing for their exit from
Toronto during or after this season … believe it…!!!

        • poiter says:

Do you realise we can go over the cap to sign Bosh? Oh right, or course
          you haven’t

          • FAQ says:

What you don’t want to realize is that the MLSE and BC will not commit max money to one player over such a long term contract. It’s wiser to build a team around several good players as the Pistons did and hedge their bets around a team of athletes and not one vulnerable player like Bosh .. whose knees are suspect now.

NYKs are in a huge market area and can afford to buy two max money players like Lebron and Bosh .. and even Wade because they can generate a huge amount of revenue. Puny Toronto couldn’t attract a max money player like Lebron or Wade … so the t.h. fan’s only hero hope is Bosh. If Bosh hooked up with Lebron in NY, they could have a championship team .. and the financial benefits of that would be tremendous for Bosh.

BC has already revealed how he intends to build the Raptors, and it doesn’t include a max money player … unless Bosh is willing to accept a lesser contract of say $100 Million for 5 years with a team option for a 6th year .. and playing on a fringe team for the rest of his career.

Regardless, it’s becoming evident that Bosh has had it with TO, and will attempt to pad his stats on a Raptor them that is coming apart at the seams in the preseason … so obvious.

        • FAQ's Manager says:

My apologies, but the normal FAQ is away on vacation indefinitely. We tried to find a smarter FAQ understudy to sub for him in the meantime, but interest in being his understudy has been at an all-time low. I guess you’ll all just have to put up with this one for now, despite his obvious lack of comprehension regarding the NBA salary cap rules. Again, our humble apologies.

          Regards,
          Management

  2. tonious35 says:

I’m not going to make excuses for the team, but I’m not
going to freak out … yet. I just hope this game is not
as bad as the pre-season “rock bottom” we hit when
Maccabi Tel Aviv beat us in 2005.

I mean these games don’t matter at all and it was
basically an Antoine Wright test drive session we were
“watching”. Whatever the hell FAQ is conspiracy theory-ing
about sounds like bull, but who the hell knows what can
happen if our team goes on a start like the beginning of
Shawshank Redemption. I can guarantee it won’t be bad
like those Maple Leaves at the first 10 games.

  3. Borg says:

Preseason it is however I am deeply saddened by the lack of passion of the team going into the
regular season. This was as close to a regular season game against a basement team.

Personally, yea Bosh was great, big numbers, maybe a fat max contract soon, but the TEAM lost. So what does really tell us about his leadership and will on this team? He not the franchise or the future, but the best sidekick on the market(FAQ) for sure.

To be fair Hedos and Bargs play didn’t help but hell it is… was preseason yea? lol not really looking forward to Wednesdays abuse by The King Diesel but will be fun to watch anyway, kinda sounds messed-up I know.

  4. Lucamacus says:

Any reason as to why Hedo only played 14 mins? Or is he just still tired……

    • Lucamacus says:

Oh, and i know its preseason and his first game back, but Wright, the so called “defensive stopper” was a minus 18 against these young pups……wish this game was televised so we just dont have to take retard Doug Smith’s word for how individuals played…..Nice to see Hedo was a +13.

      • poiter says:

Honestly, do you know that a normal +/- stat means next to nothing

        • Malefax says:

That’s only true over the course of a season. Over the course of a game, straight +/- is useful because it tells you who was on the floor when the team was doing well and who was on when the team was doing badly. That’s useful information to have.

        • Hardcore Raps says:

I would never say +/- means nothing. It just depends on how you value stats. Some would say points means nothing, PER means nothing, win % means nothing, assists means nothing.

I personally think its a pretty telling statistic if considered properly. This is where I disagree with Malefax, I think +/- over the course of a season is much more telling than one game.

      • FAQ's Manager says:

Hey, Weems was a +23 one game, higher than everyone else. It’s so weird that he’s not a starter. He’d be a starter on most teams with that +/-.

        (note: sarcasm)

    • kc22 says:

Per Doug Smiths’ blog, Hedo tweaked an ankle in the first half, and they held him out for the rest of the game as a precautionary measure.

  5. Scooter says:

FAQ – you sir are an idiot.

BC may decide to trade Bosh, but not until mid-season at the earliest to get max value from a contender. Playing minutes in a meaningless pre-season game does nothing for his trade value.

    • Assistant GM says:

      …especially one that wasn’t televised…at all!

    • FAQ says:

So why did Triano play Bosh for 36 minutes in a meaningless pre-season game that wasn’t televised … other than to pad his stats …???

      Answer that “scoooter” … LOL

      • DanH says:

Ummm… how about… he was trying to get into game shape before the season starts? He even said after last game he wanted to play this one like it was the season.

Geez, FAQ, just pay attention and we’d all be better off.

        • The O'Neal McCoy says:

No, but that doesn’t make any SENSE!!! It is “SO OBVIOUS!” that Colangelo is trying to trade Bosh as soon as possible!! Why else would BC have signed a 53 million dollar aging vet, as well as Bosh’s BEST FRIEND over the summer??? To convince him to stay!!!??? NO!!! It’s all part of BC’s master plan to build around Turkoglu, Calderon, and Bargnani (otherwise known as “The Big, White, and Unathletic 3″), and contend for championships for years to come!!!!

          /sarcasm

  6. JP says:

Hearing this “associate producer” of a broadcast team speak made my hopes of landing a high ranking NBA position a lot more realistic. Broad is dumber than a tooth pick.

  7. Malefax says:

The flip side of Hedo’s +13 in 13 minutes was Wright’s -18 in 28. I hope the Raps don’t end up having to rely on him to much — everything I see about him stat-wise rings warning bells for me.

  8. Bob says:

It’s disapointing we lost, but here’s some things I see from the box score:

    The Good

    1) We actually out-rebounded a team
    2) We had 7 blocked shots, some good interior defense
    3) We held Min to 42% FG percentage
    4) Bosh played great
    5) DeRozen went 3/3. didn’t miss a shot. Perhaps he needs to look for his shot a bit more.

    The Bad

    1) 2/20 beyond the arc. Ouch
    2) 40% FG percentage. Overall a bad shooting night.
    3) It appears our guards/wings got exposed on D a little bit (Wright, Jose)
    4) Amir played 12 minutes and got only 1 rebound
    5) Jose got more rebounds than Bargnani did
    6) We didn’t get to the free throw line enough either

    • Shahin says:

Yes, we did win the rebounding battle but Min did not have their top 2 rebounder in the game so that is meaningless.

      This game was BAAAADDDDD

  9. Adam says:

I’m not sure at this point if we can just turn up the intensity. I’m seeing a slow start, especially with the tough schedule off the start. Be ready for a bumpy ride and a lot of excuses.

  10. LilRomeo says:

How would the Raptors face their opening season on the 28th if we lost to a most garbage team in the NBA? I wouldn’t be surprised if the Cavs will dominate and rape the Raps in the a** at the ACC!! There is definately NO excuse why they lost to Wolves last night without the presence of Kevin Love, and Al Jefferson.

Tell me people, why did the Raptors lost? Is it because they don’t have the ‘chemistry’ yet? It’s been over a month the training camp and they still unable to have a great chemistry with each other? That’s bullcrap! What’s the excuse about losing to the Wolves? Yeah, I want to hear your excuses! That’s what this website for, right?!

    • Shahin says:

I have no idea !!!! I am just shocked on how bad this team is !!!!

      • FAQ says:

This team still has no chemistry .. and it’s about as stale as a can of old Mountain Dew … so obvious.

First two months for the Raptors will be learning on-the-job in the NBA … get ready to grumble ….!!!!
