Whether we miss him or not, is something that is still up in the air. On paper our weakness is rebounding.

This is something we may be able to live with, if EVERY single player gives extra effort. However thus far, our best rebounder has looked below average in this regard.

We also don't know how Pops personality meshed with our starting three last year. I did not see any smiles when Bosh and Pops walked by each other. Perhaps mangment made a choice based on chemistry not performance, and as we all know can be just as valid.

New NBA Website. Someone should force Johnson to spend 2 hours a day on it on non-game days, until he masters it

----------------------------------
Welcome to the NBA Video Rulebook !

The NBA Video Rulebook website is intended to help explain the Rules of the NBA game to all interested parties - our teams, the media, and our fans.

The videos in each section illustrate examples of different kinds of fouls and violations, with detailed descriptions and explanations of each play. To find a specific type of play, hover your mouse cursor over the tabs at the top of the page and the drop down menus will take you to whichever play category you are seeking ! The site will be continually updated as we add new video examples, so please check back often to see what new plays have been added...

I like Pops too but if you watched the whole game you would agree that POB got the better of the match up for the last 7 minutes. That says a lot about the preseason.

I think you can see some telling things about players like Bosh has put on some weight and is playing closer to the net with his back to the basket a lot more. But I wouldn't try to read into the overall play of the team or that of bench guys as it is generally fools gold. Pops is a nice player but hardly someone we'll miss. I also think you have to take into account that the game meant a lot more to Pops than in did to the man guarding him.

Next time we'll know to get POB on him early :)

I don't see a lot of chemistry yet as we still throw the ball away and I have to ask...Did the sequence where Toronto pressed and got a dunk from Amir and then a second TO which Weems proceeded to miss the dunk leading to a dink on the other end followed by a bad Weems shot which led to a second dunk not feel like the Boston or New Jersey games last year? I was so pumped at the begining of the exchange that I almost stood up out of my chair and by the end I was scared......

Re Hoops Addict … if you haven’t read the piece by Trevor Smith, Turkoglu Represents Toronto’s Persona | Hoops Addict … you should. Exceptionally good.

Brothersteve "In this game, Shane Battier was left unguarded all evening. Even though the fans could see from their seats..."
Yet, ZERO response from the coaches/players. So much for Iavaroni's D strategies - Rockets shot 57% from beyond the arc. Ug.
What was quite impressive though is the "surprise" full court trapping press. Loved it. Given we have a few new athletes with nice wingspans (yes, I hate that term as well), we should launch this once a game - just for a spurt - 3 or 4 min. Was very effective (besides the Weems missed open dunk...dude come on!)
