He’s looked awful so far…I suppose if you are trying to make a roster there is no excuse coming into summer league out of shape or unmotivated.

O’Bryant is on a min salary for 1 year at $855k, now guaranteed. Prior to being guaranteed there was a $500k buyout option, which is now past.

Yep, couldn’t agree more. It sure is a gamble at some point (and all gambles are scary…), but Demar has the potential to well overpay that bet if he develops correctly.
We’ll have a more clear idea at the end of next season.

I think the Raptors are on the hook for O’Bryant’s full salary at this stage. Supposedly, his contract became fully guaranteed after he wasn’t waived shortly after the regular season ended. Not 100% sure, but I think that’s the situation.

I’ve seen mixed reports on Douby’s contract. I wonder if he’s guaranteed or not.

I’m scared of demar’s potential never being fulfilled similar to Joey Graham.

Joey had 4 years. Demar has had three games. Joey had three years of college. Demar had one. Give the kid a chance before you become scared of him not fulfilling anything.

The min salary is around 800k no?

I think its 500K guranteed but if he is waived by date X (which may have all ready happened) I believe he is on the hook for 1.3ish in total.

Shamsports have his salary listed at 855K but says nothing about the gurantee so who knows.

the raps did not waive his option by the deadline so he’s fully guaranteed close to 1 Mill this year, as per Doug Smith’s blog.

I’m scared of demar’s potential never being fulfilled similar to Joey Graham. There is nothing wrong with being a productive role player with a winning team but looking at these guys’ bodies and athleticism it seems like a shame if they don’t put it together.
I’m going to miss Joey’s highlight dunks and the times he muscled people in the paint, when guarded by smaller guys, of course coz he often failed miserably trying to back down 4s in the paint.
That was his only go to move – crowding the paint with a ‘pin-down’ of a bigger guy, when teammates were looking to drive to the cup.
I still like him better that Barnes though.
Hope Derozan is more of a Josh Howard caliber player, coz no matter what we have around him, we’re gonna need his athleticism and driving to push us to the playoffs.
Nightmare scenario – our stars get injured, miss games and play injured for double digit games.
Dream Scenario – we’re the Orlando Magic and Denver Nuggets of 09-10

Not sure about your crunch time comment.

Raps were outscored 9-6 in the final 2:30 and had a hell of a time fighting the pressure put on by Portland. It was ugly ball down the stretch.

Petway has talent but I cannot see him in the NBA, at least not as anything more than a Voskuhl type. He is out of position quite a bit and does a lot of garbage work, which look pretty and make a hilight reel here and there, but not worthy of a roster spot of any consequence.

I know PBO’s contract is patially guranteed or does anyone know if the gurantee has kicked in yet???

As much as I love the moves so far in the off season there is still some dead weight. I hope we can trade/waive some of it:

POB
George
Banks
Maybe Ukic
Maybe Douby

Clearly we can’t rid ourselves of all…..but maybe 2 of them….. The others can and should be told to get real confy in a suit.

We desperately need back ups at the:
Small forward spot and the Center spot.

Delfino/Rasho by the sound of it.

However I really like our guard rotation of Jose/Jack/Derozan much more then Jose/Ukic/Parker/Kapono that we had to start last season.

In fact dare I say:

Derozan/Jack/Calderon = One of the best 3 man backcourt rotations in the East by the end of the year.

Derozan wins Rokie of the year over B Griffin in a LANDSLIDE…. OK it will be close but I am taking Derozan.
