AltRaps 3pt Shot

1) The ghost of James Naismith visits you and grants you the ability to “fix” one thing about the Raptors, but only one. What do you fix?

2) Give us your top 3 favourite Raptors bench players of all time. The guys you’d hear are checking in and you got pumped up about.

3) Chris Bosh hit up RR and read comments. Here’s your chance to speak your mind to him. What do you say?

30 Raps

  1. RobertArchibald says:

1 – The ability to stop other teams from putting it in our peach basket.

2 – JYD. Pape Sow, Robert Archibald (’cause it meant Hoffa was coming out)

3 – You are not as good as you think you are. You are not as popular as you think you are. You do not deserve max money. You are far too comfortable with this organization. You are the literal face of this franchise and that will not happen anywhere else. But, can you autograph my jersey?

  2. RaptorsAddict says:

    1. I certainly can’t think of anything better than Robert Archibald’s line.

    2. Uros Slokar, Darrick Martin and Pops Mensah-Bonsu, in that order.

    3. You take way too many jump shots. You get hurt too easily and too often. You showed your true colors the last two years against KG wherein he owned you repeatedly, to the point that it totally deflated our entire team. You might make the KG-face, but your “intensity” does not rub off on your teammates; instead, you come off like a bit of a sulking, whiny bitch. You have no low post game to speak of. If you take max-money and stay in Toronto we will never win, for a whole plethora of reasons that I needn’t get into here. The whole “CB4: Mogul” thing got old at about the first video after you “Chris Bosh for All-Star Video”. If I weren’t an atheist I would pray every night for BC to trade you before the draft.

  3. Silverback says:

    1. Agree with the first two comments. Dee-fence!!!

    2. Dell Curry (he was bench, right?); JYD; Jose Calderon (when he was our back up pg).

    3. Man up and give your baby mama and daughter the money they deserve without dragging them through a nasty court case. Thanks for your time in Toronto. You really have been a tremendous player for the Raps on and off the court. But, the NBA is business. And in business we cannot pay you what you think you are worth. So we are trading you to (blank) and starting to re-build our team with some young assets. I wish you all the best.

  4. Elliot Ness says:

    1) Give us a leader. (could we also please get Anthony Randolph? Thanks)

    2) In order: Keon Clark, JYD, T-Mac

    3) Your ego seems a bit bloated, homey. Stop it with the self-promotional bullshit, people like Shaq and Lebron can get away with it because they’re among they’re big dogs, see? The only reason you’re catching flak, which I’m not sure you were aware of before this RR intervention, is because of the disparity between your game and your off the court presence.

It’s really partially the Raptors PR people who are at fault. They scrambled to put the Chris Bosh Band-Aid over the wounded pride left by the Vince Carter debacle(see: player acting like a bitch, completely destroying any Raptors trade leverage). They put your mug on everything and you thought they were marking your territory for you.

You’re a good player, not a Great player.

  5. Duncan says:

    1. Erase any trace of the dated name “Raptors”, the stupid purple dino (not the mascot guy, he’s great!), and especially, the pin-striped jerseys.

    2. Matt Bonner, for his hustle (and KG throw-downs!). Roko, for his game-changing motor. Keon Clark, ’cause it meant he prob left a still-smoldering doobie under his spot on the bench.

    3. Thanks for being a good soldier for the organization, and, no matter which team you sign long-term with, don’t you agree that your max deal will hinder that teams ability to surround you with other quality players?

  6. hotshot says:

    1. Go back in time and draft Danny Granger instead of Joey Graham.

    2. Mo Pete, JYD, Bonner.

    3. Hey Chris, don’t let the comments by the wannabe keyboard GM’s get to you, all you got to do this summer is make sure that you are the best player you can possibly be by working on your flaws and staying in tip top shape (but you already know that). If you do that then coming next season you would have nothing to worry about or have anybody to answer to, and everything is going to take care of itself.

  7. |24PT0|25 says:

    1. GO BACK IN TIME AND LET US Re-Draft from 1995-present.
1996 Kobe Bryant instead of Marcus Camby.
1998 Since we have Kobe, draft Dirk or Jamison instead of Vince Carter.
2000 Ron Artest instead of Alek Redojevic.
2001 Tony Parker instead of Michael Bradley
2002 Tayshaun Prince instead of Kareem Rush
2004 Andris Biedrins instead of Rafael Araujo
2005 Andrew Bynum instead of Charlie Villanueva. Danny Granger instead of Joey Graham
2006 Rajon Rondo instead of Bargniani because we need backup PG for Parker
2008 Mario Chalmers instead of Roy Hibbert and keep the pick
    2. JYD. Pops Mensah-Bansu. Andrea Bargnani (when he was backup for Rasho)
    3. Good luck winning title with Dwayne Wade or Lebron James

    • Macy O'Baston says:

When he says ‘change 1 thing’ you interpret that to mean ‘revisit every draft and choose the best player taken after our pick’. Live in the now, that’s a hopeless exercise.

  8. Macy O'Baston says:

    1. Some attitude
    2. Dell-Money, JYD, Muggsy
    3. It is incomprehensible how people on here perceive you to be a bad player or a bad/selfish person. Come to camp rested but in great shape and get back to the way you started last season. That was an MVP pace.

  9. eyebleaf says:

    1. I’m with number 8. While every team would love to go back in time and re-draft, especially the Raptors.

    2. MoPete, Matt Bonner, and Pops. Gotta have my Pops.

    3. Don’t listen to the haters.

  10. Edgar says:

    1) Fix the attitude of our fanbase to get them to stop being so manic depressive and chasing talent out of town so the GM can do his job without

    2) Give us your top 3 favourite Raptors bench players of all time. The guys you’d hear are checking in and you got pumped up about.

Lots but Delfino, Mopete, Bonner, Hump/Pops (depending on the night)

    3) Chris Bosh hit up RR and read comments. Here’s your chance to speak your mind to him. What do you say?

Keep cool. Do your thing. A MVP candidate year for you is a win-win.

  11. Stince says:

    1. Different ownership.

    2. Keon Clark, Tracy McGrady (remember he was mostly off the bench early), sadly Matt Bonner.

    3. You’re a crafty low post game away from being unguardable. Keep working on your game and pray your freaking team shows up next year too. You may not have an elite wing or guard to play alongside right now, but things change fast in the NBA. Remember that all the people who are criticizing you are doing so despite being your being forced to play in the most predictable offense in the NBA with teammates that don’t suit your game. Pair you with an elite wing and we’ve got 8 years of playoff basketball ahead. It’s on you to refine your game, it’s up to the GM to get you help and it’s up to the coach to put you in a system that highlights your skills. Just go do your part.

  12. Flounder says:

    1. Agree with Edgar, the frigging fan base. Raps go down a few points and the life in the building leaves. Confidence really does have a significant impact, fans can help a struggling player pick himself up. Or a significant upgrade at the 2 who can play both ends of the court.

    2. MoPete(particularly if put in late and needing a 3), Keon Clark, JYD.

    3. To Bosh, Thanks for being a good ambassador for the game in Toronto. Everything a team leader should be. I just ask that you don’t take us hostage for a deal that should maybe only be available to someone of Lebron’s ilk. Remember how long it took KG to get his and why that might have been. (All star without enough quality peripherals) You’re awesome, bonafied all-star, and night in-night out performer, i think we can fill in whats’ missing.

Also, as much as the NBA is popular in the US. Raptor players have a nation sized fan base. We’re just spread out…..really really spread out.

  13. it is what it is says:

    1. D

    2. Dell, JYD, K Willis

    3. Take it to hole more, play with more intensity on defence and get a hair cut, having said all that Chris your a great player and if you do these things you can get better. I love the Raps and good luck…

  14. yertu damkule says:

    1. purple

    2. jyd, bonner, jose

    3. so long, and thanks for all the fish…

  15. Raps Fan says:

    Great comments above!

    1. Draft Andre Iguadala

    2. Dell Curry, John Thomas, Jose Calderon (when he was a bench player)

    3. You’re a max player, there is no doubt, but it would be tough to give you that kind of money AND build a very competitive team given Toronto’s perception to American FA’s. Whatever you decide, I only ask that you keep it quiet (which you are doing, so keep it up) and not be a distraction for this team.

Just a suggestion, and I’m putting it out there: if say, you decide on a 5yr/$105 contract, that would give us the flexibility to go out and sign a Joe Johnson next year to help you carry the load. Just a thought

    ——-
On a side note, who else is glad that our thing has been nice and civilized the last day or so here?

  16. khandor says:

    1. Jim Balsillie buys controlling interest of both the Maple Leafs and Raptors from MLSE.

    2. Tracy McGrady, Morris Peterson & Dee Brown.

    3. You’re the best Center the Raptors have. It’s the position you played during the 47 Win season. It’s the position you played for the Redeem Team. Please ensure that you play this position from now on with the Raptors and request that Bryan Colangelo obtain a 1st-class PF, SF and OG, to play alongside of you and Jose Calderon [PG] … by trading, drafting and signing as a free agent whomever is necessary to get the job done right, or it’s going to be “Asta la Vista, baby,” come next summer. Carpe Diem!

    • stan says:

damn you are dumb…chris bosh a c?..chris bosh would be considered malnourished in ethiopa.u idiot.

    • Simon says:

Stop spelling centre like an American.

    • MC_B-rad says:

Cant believe I am about to say this, but I completely agree with MLSE selling the Leafs and Raptors to Balsillie….after that Khandor, you went back to your normal non-sensical self

  17. j says:

    1. Give the raptors an owner like george steinbrenner, mark cuban, or even jim balsillie: who owners who have passion for the game, care about the team, and are willing to spend to improve the team, and have just one goal-win the championship.
The raptors are always in the shadow of the leafs, and the leafs are the chicago cubs, oakland raiders, and new york knicks of hockey.

    2. charles oakley, donyell marshall, joey graham

    3. Thanks for not having the Vince Carter-attitude of vocally wanting out of t-dot. you love TO, that’s why you signed a record deal with warner music canada. You didnt sign the extension because you want more, potentially the max deal. You are the main man of the raptors right now. you are the best Power Forward (big man, but not a centre). i know you have a jumpshot and you love shooting them as part of your offensive arsenal. perhaps you idolize dirk, or even your teammate bargs, but we need you to take it inside. develop your post game. WE NEED YOU INSIDE! stick to the plan, you=inside-outside; bargs=outside-inside. And one more thing, PLEASE TOUGHEN UP!!! Bulk up! we saw you in your performance against KG, and we really feel bad. i know you dont want to be pushed around and get owned. so you better do something about it. it’s may be also a positive that you are not a vocal leader, you may be a quiet leader who prefers to lead by example, but we need you to have the attitude. get some tips from the hockey folks, or your maple leaf buddies on how to be a really tough leader like a jarome iginla. I expect you to have your best season next season as it is your contract year. I believe you will have a better supporting cast than last season. we have a decent GM in bryan, a decent coaching staff led by jay. WE NEED YOU TO DELIVER! You are our ROY HALLADAY!

  18. Dino Gunners says:

    1. Teaching the Raptors how to play tough, fundamental defense

    2. Peterson, Curry, JYD

    3. Chris, you have proven to be one of the better players in the league. This front office, despite its countless mistakes, is striving to create an elite team around you. You are not in the realm of LeBron or Kobe, a player who can will his team towards a win, but you need a bit more help to get success. With that in mind, you should consider staying in Toronto and not taking the max. You are the face of the franchise and have always tried your best for Toronto. Us fans appreciate that, especially coming off of the Vince Carter ordeal. Please, please stay for less than the max and convince one of your buddies (Johnson etc.) to come over. We are a few pieces away from being an elite team.

  19. Rapthoseleafs says:

    (1)Only one choice … SG

(2)Three Favourite Bench guys … Pops (helped make the end of a bad year tolerable), Jose (when we had that luxury), and Moon’s back-up.

    3)Sign or …… gtfo.

    .

  20. wsg says:

    1) Change the ownership from a group who lives to toast profit numbers to a group (or individual) who lives to toast championships.

    2) Jose, Dell Curry and Bargnani in his first year.

    3) If you truly think it’s likely you’ll walk at the end of next year to be with the team of your choosing, quietly let Bryan know so that he can get a fair return for all that he and the the organization have done for you. Please. Raptors have been good to you. Don’t be the next Vince. Otherwise, bear down and play like you did for the first month or two of last season, for all of next season … and for a good long while after that, hopefully with the Raptors.

  21. Creebrave says:

    (1) Some heart and pride to stop the man in front of you… when I played I would have rather taken the hard foul than let myself get beat outright and embarrassed in this manner.

    (2) JYD (see comment above) Mo (see comment above) Del Curry (that shot was silky smooth…. like butter)

    (3) Bosh… your good, actually pretty damn good, but not great YET. The greats are those that recognize their weaknesses and make an effort to eradicate those weaknesses. Work on that low post game and decision making, ball stoppers kill the flow of the offense and hurt the team in more ways than you can imagine.

One more thing, IMO the greats that garnered the most respect from the fans and in the locker room were the humble ones, the ones that led by example on the court and in practice. If your desire is to win and EARN the bucketloads of cash that come with leading a winning team, than cut the theatrics and hype, prove that you can be a GREAT and not just a “damn good”

  22. Andiamo says:

    1.botch
    2.slater,rozier and keon
3.hey bosh stop being a hollywood whorebag. go chug the creatine and hit the weights u soft motherfucking clown….ps,cut your faggotass hair.thx.

  23. tonious35 says:

    1. Prevent the Garbo leg-break disaster in 2007.
    2. Keon, JYD, Mo-PETE
    3. You were screwed over last year with that JO trade, the baby-mama drama, Will Soloman, Kapono, Devlin, and the silent Mitchell vs. BC war. Keep giving back to the community like you always do, and pray we give you some better players that don’t suck. If you want financial security, then play all areas of your game at the best!!!

  24. verbatim says:

    1) The ghost of James Naismith visits you and grants you the ability to “fix” one thing about the Raptors, but only one. What do you fix?
    - Pick and Roll Defence

    2) Give us your top 3 favourite Raptors bench players of all time. The guys you’d hear are checking in and you got pumped up about.
    - Jose Calderon, Jason Kapono

    3) Chris Bosh hit up RR and read comments. Here’s your chance to speak your mind to him. What do you say?
    - Work on your game, box out, team defence, and help to bring someone of the calibre of Joe Johnson to this team. We don’t need Kobe, but we do need someone that can create his own shot for us to be successful – that player cannot be you.

  25. ebrian says:

I’m a couple days late on this, but here goes:

    1. Killer instinct.
    2.
    (a) Matt Bonner/Mo Pete – I still get excited, when he gets subbed in whenever we play the Spurs/Hornets.
    (b) Mamadou N’Diaye – Sitting in the stands, I just remember whenever he entered the game, you’d hear at least a dozen fans pronouncing his name over and over. “MA-MA-DOO.. EN-jay.. enJAY. Ma. Ma. Do. N. J.”
    (c) Jose Calderon, as he emerged the year we traded Villanueva for TJ Ford.

24, thats a really good comment. We messed up far too many drafts. xD
