Miami Heat Press Conference

They have announced a press conference for 12:30PM.

Update: Turns out it was about Zo.

40 Raps

  1. Flying J says:

What are you saying? Has a transaction occurred involving the Heat and the Raps?

  2. Tunez says:

Yeah could have something to do with Mourning, but sounds fishy after this came out today:

“The Toronto Raptors and Miami Heat have exchanged medical records on a proposed trade that would send Jermaine O’Neal to Miami and Shawn Marion to Toronto, according to a report in Thursday’s New York Daily News.”

    • From Inside Hoops (see the Front Page webnews):

The Miami Heat are making a news announcement Thursday at 12:30pm Florida time.

The South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports that the conference isn’t going to be about Shawn Marion possibly being traded, but instead will address the playing status of Alonzo Mourning.

It’s possible that Zo is going to announce his retirement.

We’ll update this blog entry shortly.

I don’t think Marion for JO is happening today. (But it could!) ;)

  3. Westender says:

    The suspense is killing me.

  4. Say ‘bye-bye’ to JO and Solo-man.

  5. Anonymousf*ck says:

I swear a Heat/Raptors trade will make me start leaving comments on this site..

    This anticipation is killing me..

  6. phdsteve says:

Beasly and AMrion for Bosh….just kidding.

I heard that its all about Zo also.

But the last time Colangelo made a move this season it was after a huge blowout and embarassing loss on the road.

just like last nights no-show in Detroit.

wouldnt surprise me- but too little too late.

  7. SMitch says:

If it’s about Zo, screw him for bouncing out of T.O. for the VC trade.

  8. OntarioTeachersFundPresident says:

I think they should throw Mourning into the deal so he can get shipped up here and I get to kick him in the fucking balls for the bullshit he pulled on us.

  9. OntarioTeachersFundPresident says:

Dumb question because I don’t know Banks from a hole in the ground – would Banks be an upgrade over Solomon?

  10. pakmacman says:

I hate Will Solomon. I have never detested a player as much as I detest his ugly mug. I want to hit him in the face with a shovel… Getting nothing in return for this idiot would be an upgrade IMO.

  11. khandor says:

    OTPF,

At the price-tag Banks comes with and given his limited skill set, manning the PG-spot in this league … IMO, no, he would not be considered an upgrade to Will-the-thrill.

  12. Ruby_Cube says:

What’s going on? can’t find any info anywhere!

  13. Gallo says:

cant find out what its on however i think its on alonzo retiring

  14. Andiamo says:

    zo=biggest douchbag ever

i remember when he was under contract to us bitching to be bought out because “he couldn’t play”.meanwhile he was front row at heat games rocking a bandanna and shades.

    • OntarioTeachersFundPresident says:

Then it was “I can’t play I’m retiring” then it was “oh sure I’ll sign on for the playoff run” then it was fuck you zo you unprofessional crybaby asshole.

  15. Gallo says:

The press conference was about Zo retiring…nothing about the trade

  16. Ruby_Cube says:

who’s got a link to that info?

  17. Andiamo says:

i’ll never respect zo after that crap he pulled with us.

  18. Arsenalist says:

Never understood the buyout though, I for one thought he could actually help the team at the time and it turned out that he did have something left in his tank. We should’ve forced his ass to report instead of giving him 100%.

    • I agree. Had Zo reported, I think the VC traded would have been acceptable. Babcock should have played hardball (a la the NYK Starbury Fiasco).

These are tough times in the Republic.

    • FLUXLAND says:

And how exactly do you force someone to report or play for that matter? Heard of Starbury? It’s a players league… they run it.

      • Andiamo says:

this comment is indicative of how backwards you are.marbury isnt playing.thus he isnt a player, thus it isnt a players league because the bitch is out of a job sitting on the sidelines wishing he could play.if players run it,like you say…wouldnt starbury be playing?

        • FLUXLAND says:

As far as I understand, Starbury is not playing on his own accord, is still part of the Knicks and is still getting paid. That would be criteria of employment, I would assume. Therefore, he is calling the shots, and this is a players run league. Nice try tho.

          • Andiamo says:

i dont know about you.but all the money in the world wouldnt be able to take away the pain of not being able to play the game i love.if marbury is content not playing but getting paid,he’s worthless.

          • Andiamo says:

the gm and coach of the knicks decide if he plays.they decided he wont.they were short cuz of injuries and asked him to suit up.the bitch baby had a hissy fit and said no,because hes a bitch.so how can he be in charge?does money equate him being in charge?

          • FLUXLAND says:

Sorry to break it to ya, Andiamo, but for these guys this is a JOB and a business. There is love involved (I hope) but it is not the primary motivation for playing anymore. If it was, they would play for free, no?
I’m sure you have read about rookies, who say that eventually they realize this is a business.
If they ask you to play and you say no… who’s calling the shots? And after you do, you still get paid.. even tho contractually you were supposed to play for that money. I dunno, from where I am sitting…he’s in charge. Now, they may not be willing to release him, but that’s just helping him out. He saves his body, is injury free.. I mean really, this is working out for him in the long run, not them. They are paying a guy NOT to play.. oh yeah, they sure are in charge. Whatever.. its all in how you wanna take it. I guess really.. they both get what they want.. or not. Whatever.

  19. Andiamo says:

he was busy front row at heat games while his lawyers and medical team convinced babcock that he was ill and unfit to play and that anything less than a 100% buyout would appear disrespectful to a man who was ill and would negatively affect future ballers from coming to the raptors……i would have issued an ultimatum to play with us or sit the reamining years of his contract on the raptor bench.thats reason #1 why we needed colangelo, babcock was a lush pansy who made weak decisons and made the franchise look weak……..zo punked us.

  20. Gallo says:

espn covered it 20 min ago

  21. Arsenalist says:

Hey, the Zo press conference showed up in the little video player on the site. Cool….
