That’s not the big move we’re all expecting but hey, a great GM can do wonders with a second-round draft pick, no? There’s also the Bargnani to Dallas rumour but be aware that there’s going to be tons of deals involving Howard being thrown out.
Maybe the trade is a way for Colangelo to create some roster space for a bigger trade involving O’Neal, see, we’ll need to take back half a team in order to trade his 21M salary. After this trade the roster stands at 13 players. After being signed by Colangelo as a “defensive stopper” who New Jersey was supposedly ruing letting go, Hassan was nothing more than dead-weight. He only got in the games when we were either up 20 or down 20. At least he gave us something to laugh at during those blowout losses, nobody will him miss him more than AltRaps since the Roll Calls just got a lot less funnier.

Hassan Adams can ball. I watched him drop about 14 of 15 on the Lakers in the short time he played. Adams can d up as well.If given a chance….and I sure he will get it, he is going to make a lot of fans eat their words raw without any salt or pepper.
PS Adams should still have an honorary spot at the bottom of the role call for a while with speculation on what playing he’s not doing in L.A. or how many towels he crammed into his warmup top.

Doug Smith proven wrong once again!! After we signed Voskuhl he said there are no moves imminent. This move ain’t much but I still guarantee you we made a blockbuster trade involving Parker, Kapono and Bargnani before the deadline.

the word “consideration” in this context is just a legal term for the benefit accorded by other side of the contract. eg if I buy a car for $5,000, the $5,000 is the “consideration” given to the seller by the buyer.
Either way, I can’t imagine it was very much cash. And kudos to having the news up here before it was on ESPN!!

hows this for a trade? sacramento sucks this year and is most likely looking to dump salary to start rebuilding. so they send us brad miller, kevin martin, and john salmons, in exchange for JO, Parker, and jamario moon. They get to dump almost 30 million dollars worth of salary, and get JO’s huge contract as well as parker and moon and all those contracts expire after next year, allowing them to compete for a big 2010 free agent. meanwhile we get a quality big man, a good wing player, and one of the best scorers in the league. the Kings would probably be crazy to go for it, but hey, it worked on the ESPN trade machine so in theory it could happen.

The past 5 games (with 2W) indicate that the BB tandem up front is the best it gonna be/get for this team. All else is expendable. Remember who we are talking about here, and recognize the fluke that it is. If they put anything around this that can function at even a passing level (which is more than they have right now) they win. Big time. It’s all they have really. I guess they could say that was the plan all along. Oh, I guess Jose might be at passing level, but what is Roko?

Kevin Martin is a 2nd tier, one-dimensional NBA player.
An 18-pt 2nd quarter lead vs a team that has only won 7 games so far this season, in the 2nd half of a back-2-back … will be a difficult loss to swallow for the raptors, should the dino’s play continue to deteriorate in the 2nd half this evening.
As that 2nd quarter progressed, the Wizards began to show that they are a lot more athletic than the Raptors and can dominate the boards if they have the energy to go hard to the glass.
Not a good sign for the Toronto that Washington couldn’t make a perimeter shot but were still able to pull it back to only a 12-pt deficit.
First 5 minutes of the 3rd quarter will be a key part of the game.
Let’s hope the visitors continue to hit their shats.
After struggling early in the 3rd Q … nice job by the Raptors to regain their momentum toward the end of the frame to re-establish a 13-pt margin heading to the 4th Q.
Expect the Wizards to make 1 more major run. If the Raptors can hold them off, then, it should be clear sailing from there.
