Win Free Tickets to Raptors vs Magic on Jan 4th

We’re in the spirit of giving here at Raptors Republic and this time its two tickets to watch Chris Bosh and Dwight Howard go at it on January 4th, 2009. To enter the contest all you need to do is post something in this thread, here are a few suggestions:

  1. A Raptors prediction for the rest of the year (could be anything)
  2. A funny picture or video (could be non-basketball related). You can use <img src="http://domain.com/image.jpg"/> to post an image
  3. What you think of Hassan Adams or Will Solomon?
  4. In one sentence, what does Bargnani need to do to fix himself?
  5. Get something off your chest…

Just try to have some fun with it…

We’ll pick out a winner on New Years Eve and notify them according to their email, so be sure to enter your real email (we don’t spam, distribute or even care to store these). Unlike last time, we’ll pick a winner based on a combination of how good your comment is and randomization, mostly the latter. The only rule is that you must only post once in this thread.

Have at it…

Happy holidays from everyone here at Raptors Republic.

  1. Dino Gunner says:

This was my favourite picture of all time. It was a legit picture when Bosh won player of the month, Bargs won rookie of the month and Sam won coach of the month.

One of the best momment for me being a raps fan.

  2. khandor says:

  3. Raptors2009 says:

Prediction: Raptors will end the season strong and finish 7th in the East and lose to the Cavs in 5 games.

  4. Andiamo says:

i predict jo and oneal gel and we run a bunch of games off and bargs breaks out of his xmas depression and starts to play like he did earlier in season…we’ll make the playoffs and go deep into the second round….MEERY XMAS BITCHES.

  5. Jeff W says:

Prediction: Raps make a significant trade in January.
    Funny picture:

Hassan and Will: DIS. A. POIN. TING.
Bargnani needs consistency, I think: One role, one position.
Something off my chest: Bargnani is not a bust! This is his only his third year. He may not be all-star quality, but he can still be a very good player. He is no Araujo.

  6. coach says:

PREDICTION : Brian Colangelo will be out of the Raptors organization this year !

  7. tonious35 says:

Prediction: The Raptors will be the designated hostel, hot-spot for out-of-the-NBA-League players, Euro-trash, softies, and pylons.

  8. hotshot says:

I had to say and repeat plenty of “serenity now” mantra’s before, during and after watching some Raptor games this season. Lets hope for better result’s after Christmas, otherwise insanity will soon take over…

In one sentence, what does Bargnani need to do to fix himself?
    Get something off your chest…

    1. The Toronto Raptors will make the playoffs and lose to Boston in 4.

    2.

    3. I think Will Solomon and Hassan Adams are best friends because they both share many things in common – they can’t get playing time on a very small roster.

    4. Bargnani needs someone to tell him what to do every step of the way (babysit) until it becomes completely natural for him.

    5. Watching a rerun of the Thunder vs. Minnesota made me even more envious of the Thunder than after they owned us.

  12. Justin says:

    Hassan Adams=Cabbage Patch Kid. Seriously.

  13. niccolo cardarelli says:

dear santa on this the night you fly around the world to deliver gifts to all the good kids the following is a list that i would be more than pleased to see under the raptor tree

    1. cut adams .. i havent seen someone ride the bench and collect a pay cheque with such comfort since the day of loren woods

    2. trade away kapono and moon .. without a doubt these 2 guys havent been up to par this year, in particular moon is no where near the impact player he was last season and his stupid shot selection from the outside has not only cost them games but was the reason for oneal’s first injury this year vs the nets

    3. trade for at least one of the following players: jeff foster, paul millsap, marco belinelli, reggie evans, marcus camby .. can we work out a deal to get kevin willis from pro vs joes maybe?

    4. stick andrea in 1 role .. not 1 week at starting in the 3 spot and then the next game have him as the 3rd man off the bench .. oh and ps tell the media, in particular gord stellick to lay off this guy .. he has clearly shown a commitment to the team by bulking up and the training he did prior to the season and also now by his much improved defense *almost 2 blocks avg per game* and improved offensive step to the hole *ex. when andrea drove by and in burning him, broke reggie evans ankles at the acc .. reggie still hasnt found something to compensate for the 5 inches of height where his shins used to be

    5. dont tell joey “michigan j frog” that his recent performances under jay triano have been during game time, not practice

    6. have mlse employ a hitman so that anytime the nets and vince come back to town he has an “accident” before he even steps out of the hotel and forces him out of play

    7. give bosh a pair of balls and ensure him that the only reason he is getting booed is because he is not mvp just yet, giving up double digit leads consistently is unacceptable, and to thank the lord he is not a ref because his sensitive emotions wouldnt last 1 game in grey

    8. regardless of what the team is able or unable to accomplish this season give jay triano another legit head coaching position in the league because he really does deserve it

    9. resign anthony parker before tel-aviv comes back for him .. just imagine how many more times kobe would have gone off for 81 on this team if number 18 wasnt covering him

    10. for big BC to start now on acquiring steve nash or at least 1 or 2 more big names by the 2010 period rolls around otherwise bye bye bosh, arrivaderci andrea and see ya later jose

    11. BRING BACK THE SWARSK!!!!!!!

thanks santa, like i said i dont expect you to come through on everything but even if you can just deliver #2, 3, 4, 7 and 9 that just might be enough to put us on the right track for #10 and hopefully somewhere past the 1st round of the playoffs *um as long as we dont have to match up with the cavs, magic, nets, or pistons because lord knows if thats the case it’ll be 3 straight 1st round exits

thanks santa .. i left some cookies for you in the hall
you better not let me find you kissing mommy
    your pal

  16. nate says:

I predict Nate Jawai will get a heart… for Valentine’s Day. Go Nate!!

  17. Leighhanna says:

    4, Close his mouth.

  18. Gusser says:

    My chest…something off of.
Basic concepts need to be slowly reinforced and maintained into this team concept.
    1. Inside/outside game. Drive the ball into the lane and force the defence to respond to the interior. Than you will get your open looks on the weak side.
    2. Switch on the picks quickly and don’t over help on penetration (I’m looking at you AP), so that you can contest the outside shots, thereby giving yourself the opportunity to box-out the weak side offensive rebounder.

I coach 12 yr olds. We work on this stuff 3 times a week. Jay is making progress. Give him time.

  19. Soccer/bball Dad says:

Gusser .. I too have coached kids at soccer and basketball, and the natural human tendency is to always go toward the goal or basket to ’score’ .. there is no other direction. This is a reflection on normal human instinct. Also the child’s mind shuts down if they do not possess and dribble the ball.

When I coached boys and girls soccer, with my children playing, I found that young children don’t have the mental capacity to think laterally or rearward .. only what they can see in front of them. Kicking the ball ‘backwards’ was surrendering gained territory. I never succeeded with young boys because they were too … aggressive and single-minded and just mobbed the ball. Coaching girls soccer ages 14-16 was finally successful, kicking back to a free player not enveloped by the ‘mob’. I’m proud to say the girls, not the boys, won two summer championships by simply passing the ball back. Girls can think and learn .. boys can’t.

In basketball, I tried to introduce the concept of “helper”, for boys who had dribbled in too far and were surrounded. All they had to do was pivot around and pass the ball to the “helper”. The only boys who could do this were my sons .. and even in high school basketball, this one-track mindedness was apparent when the ’star’ guard or forward was able to batter down the defence, score a lot, but the team lost. High school coaching was pathetic in those years.

Watching TJ Ford reminded me of such “ballhog” players who could only function with the ball in their hands, driving in for a pull-up jumper or layup … but confusing/icing everybody else. TJ was able to penetrate, but the other players just stood around waiting for something to happen … which is exactly what MoPete was quoted saying: “we don’t have any plays, we only stand around”. This is what happens when a team has one dominant or possessive player like VC, TJ or Bosh .. and they just stop in the expectation that the ’star’ will do something on their own. Why bother.

That’s why I enjoy watching a coordinated team with a specific system of play, and each player is thinking and reacting regardless who has the ball in their hands. I have seen a lot of bad bball related to bad coaching in Canada at the grade and high school levels. I played on such teams and when I made suggestions to the useless, stupid coaches, they were too ego-driven to care and their teams just banged their heads against a wall of stupidity/futility. Canada is a shitty basketball nation .. because the coaching is ignorant, even if the coaches have phys-ed degrees. They only win if they happen to collect a group of good athletes who have stuck together for several years. Same for NBA teams …

  20. ant says:

upon realizing that raptors fans are switching from rogers to bell in boatloads in order to capitalize on tsn2, Rogers will quickly agree to a contract with TSN to host “the deuce”. However, it will be too late as every raptors fan had already left their crappy telecommunications leviathin. Ted Rogers dies in vain.

  21. khandor says:

    Soccer/bball Dad,

What happened with the boys’ youth teams you coached when you had them play a game/do a drill like the following:

    * The Offensive Team has the ball in the front-court.
    * The Defensive Team must defend in a Man-2-Man.
    * The Offensive Team must complete X number of passes in succession in order to score a point.
    * The Defensive Team only needs to touch the ball in order to stop the Offensive Team’s possession.
    * The Offensive Team ends its own possession if a pass is dropped.
    * When the offensive possession is stopped, the offensive & the defensive teams exchange roles.
    * When the offensive team completes the designated number of passes without the defensive team touching the ball their team scores a point.
    * The Team which scores 3 points first is the winner of the game/drill.
    * A pass must be at least 15 ft [or approximately 4 meters] in distance in order to qualify as a legitimate pass.
    * If an illegitimate pass is made the Offensive Team retains possession of the ball and continues the pass count, discounting the illegitimate pass.
    * If a defensive player touches the ball while it is being dribbled by an offensive player this act does not qualify as a defensive touch.

Did the boys fail to learn how to pass the ball “back” [or sideways] to one another?

Or, did they only demonstrate to you that they cannot “think and learn” due to their overt “aggressiveness”, “single-mindedness” and “mob” mentality?

[because in my experience ... girls AND boys will each learn exactly what they're being taught, whatever that might be.]

  23. verbatim says:

Well, I do not think that Colangelo will break the luxury tax for anyone small. He may do it, if say, the entire Lakers team were up for grabs. That said, he will make a move to get a perimiter rebounder/defender/drive kind of player. I am thinking that Hump and Kapono are on the trading blocks, as much as I love Hump, he shows enough promise that another team may want him to shore up a second unit.

The Raps play well down the stretch, make it into the playoffs in the 7th spot, where they are absolutely HAMMERED by Orlando yet again, who will surpass the LeBroneliers, I mean the Cavaliers, for 2nd spot in the East. The team relies entirely on LeBron: every play goes through him – every one. He can do it too, but I think he will get tired at some point and start thinking about resting for the playoffs. I mean, the difference between 7th and 6th place opponents would be the Raps or Philly, or NJ. Why should LeBron care?

  24. thejad says:

The Raptors are a better team than they are showing now…. Bargnani will continue to be inconsistent. Firing Sam turns out to be a good move.

  25. David says:

I saw your post @ realgm about free tickets. I’d love to get in on that contest! I regularly post at realgm and was not aware of this site which I will probably begin to visit.

Let me get this off my chest.

KEEP JERMAINE ONEAL.. STOP USING HIS NAME IN TRADES… HE IS THE ONLY MAN WE HAVE ON THE TEAM.

Trade Bargnani plus a Package player such as AP for a Slashing wing player such as Salmons. :D

Good luck to me for the tickets haha!

  26. Manroop says:

I believe Jermaine O’Neil will carry this raptors team into the playoffs. I think we will lose in the first round to Boston but we will come back next year with vengeance and go all the way to the eastern conference finals.

  27. Du2 says:

I honestly think we should tank the rest of the year, i LOVE the raptors but why go back to the playoffs to get knocked out in 5 games again, BC got his work cut out for him

  28. Akbar H says:

I predict that the Raptors will continue to struggle this year but will manage to take the 8th seed. That being said, Boston will beat us 4-1.

Anyways, Hassan Adams seems like a great motivator (on the bench), but that’s pretty much all he is to our team.

Personally, I get nervous whenever Will Solomon has the ball in his hands. He’s a useful shooter, but he’s a turnover machine and his passing style is retarded.

  29. HYPZ says:

I predict Raptors fans will be overtly dramatic.

  30. G-Unit says:

RAPTORS FTW ! … and want to thank the generous people who are giving away free tickets. Mad props.

  31. Steven D says:

Trade Bargs+Parker for Maggette and all is fine again

  32. Raptors all day everyday ! …

  33. Jason says:

I get uneasy every time Bargnani has the ball in his hands. I like how he continuously drives to the hole, but he puts too much emphasis on powering his way there and not enough emphasis on actually finishing. His shot is on and off, and shouldn’t be relied on at this point in his career. He’s a pure PF in my opinion, and that’s why he has no real place on this team as long as Bosh is here. He needs to go, and we need a solid 2 in return.

Bargnani needs to get rid of his adenoids, go to a big man camp, stop being shuffled between positions, given consistent minutes, given a definitive role off the bench and get back to the three point line….oh, wait a minute.

  38. Bryden Ferrato says:

I think that Will Solomon is amazing. His ball handling skills trump anyone else in the league. Hassan Adams is a complete shmuze to me. Cheers count me in.

  44. Tuan says:

Bargnani will not be traded and will lead the raptors to a 11th place finish in the East.

  45. Jasim says:

    1. I haven’t given up, unlike a lot of other “fans”. We’ve had a tough schedule and i’m still confident we can get a playoff seed.
    2.http://blogs.mysanantonio.com/weblogs/atlarge/mavs.jpg
    3. Will Solomon needs to learn to slow the game down and not get so shot happy. Hassan Adams is possibly the best end-of-the-bench cheerleader we’ve had in a while.
    4. Bargnan needs to be a little more aggressive and demand the ball more. There’s a reason guys like Rudy Gay and Aldridge are averaging more than he is, it’s because they’ve each taken about 200 more shots this season than Andrea has. Give Andrea those looks and I bet his stats will inflate too.
    5. I hate how Garnett gets away with everything. I know all us Raps fans hate him, but here he is again going after Belinelli. Again, no call from the refs, I understand stars getting a little special treatment but this is ridiculous.: http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=sAfp6ZCsvGc

oh man i died when i saw this so here you go :P

  51. Dizzle Black says:

Bargnani needs to be more assertive especially if he’s the first big off the bench. He needs to be the ‘instant offense’ when he comes in to the game and to do that he needs to take high percentage shots through strong postups, setting screens so the defense switches and takes the mismatches that gives. Get easy buckets so that can get him and his perimeter game going. I just hate it when he first comes in to the game and jacks up a 3 ball cold, it just sets a tone for the rest of the game that he’s not going to play well.

Soloman? this guy really impressed us during our free agent camp in the summer? Soloman reminds me of a poor man’s mike james.

no comment on adams since he hardly comes off the bench and thats probably a good thing.

  52. Klutch says:

Bargnani has a lot of potential. He just does not have any confidence in his shot or his playing abilities. He needs a change in scenery, and that’s mainly why I would hesitate to trade him because I get the feeling when we trade him, he will come back to haunt us. I think he has the potential to become a great player, he himself needs to realize and believe that too, in order for him to be successful.

  53. Jason C says:

    5. Get something off your chest…

    1) Raptors barely make the playoffs

    2) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K8Hn11aPZyM

    3) Hassan Adams – This guy is overweight and can’t shoot an open J. His defence is overrated and he really is not a NBA calibur player

Will Solomon- Turnover Prone, not a PG, and they said he was the best PG in europe? that hasn’t translate to anything in the NBA, if anything he’s a 12th man on an NBA bench

    4) Bargnani needs to fix his mentality

    5) SCHOOLS A BITCH!

Hassan Adams is my favourite player. I’ve got signed posters, Hassan Adam signature Nikes, game worn headbands, his high school, college, and NJ Nets jersey, a few of his towels, and I recently bought another authentic Raptors alternative jersey.

I would love the tickets to watch the GOAT live!

  60. Oliver says:

I predict that BC will correct his major mistake over the summer and will get Carlos Delfino back into the fold. Luxury tax be damned.

  61. Jon K says:

As the Raps gradually continue to establish a better team system, they are starting to have faith in one another and the team as a whole to get the job done. They are starting to believe. As the regular season comes to a close and as we move towards the playoffs, I expect the Raptors to have re-established themselves as a force with everyone knowing their role and believing in their teammates and themselves. Go Raps!

  62. Dean says:

    Bosh owns Howard!

  63. Terror Squad says:

Prediction: Raps will have a .500 season and make it as the 6th seed, RealGm board will blow up due to panac overload but will hop on the bandwagon when Joey Crawford takes us past Orlando to the second round :)

  64. mixahead says:

RealGM reaction charts for teh noobs:

    Player = Loss / Win

    Bosh = Vince 2.0 / MVP
    Bargs = bust / Dirk 2.0

Kapono = ****ing shoot! / ****ing shoot more!

solomon > adams but they’re both garbage
bargnani needs to get his inside game going first, only then look for jump shots
to get something off my chest…I WANT THESE TICKETS!!!!!

  69. Alex says:

A Raptors prediction for the rest of the year (could be anything): Raps will make it to second round this year!

  70. Nadir Chaudhry says:

Bargs just needs to do two things -
    1) Close his mouth
    2) Comb his hair

He will become more aerodynamic and thus able to achieve position to box out sooner.

  71. Glen says:

Prediction :—–> Toronto Raptors 2008-2009 NBA CHAMPIONS

  72. Andre says:

As I rub my crystal ball, the Raptors’ future becomes clear to me, I see ping-pong balls in the future.
The Raptors are headed to the lottery.

  75. Prab says:

    So how bout them Raps?

  76. dickydoo says:

Bargnani needs to live up to his Caliper Test results and not have his confidence shattered so easily.

  77. Noxe says:

Cheerleader that Dwight banged (and got pregnant)

  78. Shpati says:

I’m optimistic and believe that the Raptors will finish the year at 44 wins and 38 losses. By having a strong end of the season, however, they will have spent a lot of energy and will lose a hard-fought 7 game series in the first round of the playoffs. Expect a medium-level trade by February involving Anthony Parker.

  79. Zach says:

Us Raptors fans need to relax. Our team is solid, it’s just under performing. The reason why we’re getting pissed is because coming into this season we all had high expectations for this team to win a lot of games.

Look at the schedule we had. Now look at the last two months of our schedule (we should win atleast 75% of those games, even with an under performing team).

    Everyone chill out!

Here’s the last reason why we should all continue to support and not boo, or not go to games… This team was built to be good now, and have flexibility come 2010. BOSH WILL BE COMING BACK. YOU HEARD IT HERE FIRST!

All the best in 2009 everyone. Let’s go Raptors!

  80. Alex says:

Tickets please!! I just made this for all you Brags fans :-)

  81. Asad says:

LETS GO RAPTORS, WE WERE JOKING, BRING VC BACK!!

  82. Daniel says:

Bargnani’s a kid with lots of potential, everyone sees it. But what he needs is easier said than done: consistency. We’ve seen flashes of superb play (dunking on unexpecting players, draining 3-pointers in defenders’ face, blocking players as they drive in). How do you give someone consistency though? Practice. Time is what Bargnani needs and BC is correct in being patient with the young player.

Trading Bargnani is not the answer. We should unclog this jam of three point shooters on our team, and trade for an athletic wing. Sacramento’s in bad shape right now, Salmons is looking like a good candidate.

    Cheers,

    Daniel

  83. Hameed Husseini says:

Raps will most probably miss the playoffs which is good thing at this point.

they get a high draft pick and come back stronger next year.

  84. Rahim Jaffer says:

    Go Raps Go!

  85. Aamir says:

In regards to bargnani i just think he needs to up the intensity on the court, show that he really wants it and fight through mistakes.

Also think Ukic as the backup point would be better because he’s young and can learn and adjust with times, he’s better than Solomon!

And Jake Voskhul has taken Hassan Adams role as ‘Best Team Cheerleader’

My personal birthday is on the 5th so I would love these tickets!

  86. 1. Raptors will finish 5-6 if they make a deal for a good sg/sf. If they dont then 8-10th seed.
    2. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ae8JZ08j0dU

    3. Hassan is a good towel waver and Soloman is a sg in a pg body.

    4. No more 3 pointers, maybe a brain transplant.

    5. I hate hockey and the leafs and all the media coverage they get.

  87. AJ says:
  88. Sami Adnan says:

JO was crazy last night and all hope is returned for the raptors

  89. Duncan says:

I predict T.O. fans will never forget Vincanity the cry baby, until BC resigns him.

I predict Will Solo-man will continue to shine with his sub-D League WNBA mad skills.

I predict Andrea Barnagni will find a great psychiatrist to get that head straight.

And going against all logic, I predict the Raptors to win a first round. After the all-star break, this team will be on fire.

  90. Salman Arshad says:

Cant wait till rokko develops.. reminds me of calderon in his first year.

  91. kyron Jones says:

The raptors are going to have a stellar 2nd half of the season and become 4th in the east and finally get over the hump, making it past 2nd round and losing to either cavs or celtics in game 5.

  92. J Smit says:

Raps will make playoffs and have a difficult series against cleveland losing in 5 games but keeping several of the losses close.

  93. Justin Wong says:

I think Bargnani has to calm down now. As part of the second unit, he’s going to be featured prominently in the offence. There will be no lack of shots for him and he’ll touch the ball on many occasions. Take only the good shots and if the shot doesn’t look good, keep the ball moving. Chances are, it’ll come back to you real soon.

  94. I==lion says:

1.In my opinion raptors go on a winning streak and end up around 6th place and make the playoffs.

    3. Adams should be waived to make more cap space and Solomons should be included in a trade as a filler.

    2.

    http://www.lolsports.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/03/dirk.jpg

    3. Hassan adams is just athletic and nothing else, he is a crappy version of joey graham! And will solomon…. what can I say about this ball chucking, turnover prone, and useless dumbass…..GO BACK TO EUROPE!

    4. Bargnani needs to grow some balls, drive and show some aggression more often (without turning it over or doing something ugly/stupid), become more consistent, and go back to shooting the way he did in his rookie season where he would barely miss any threes!

    5. Jermaine is the only guy on this team bosh with balls, he is only going to get better and go back to being his old self (if he doesn’t get injured again that is!). I love Jermaine, I think he is more of a franchise player than bosh is (imo).

  99. Sina says:

wtf, why did it post my email address, could whoever runnin this erase that and put sina. I swear I didnt do that

  100. Andrew H says:

    1. A Raptors prediction for the rest of the year (could be anything)

Joey graham will average 30 and 5 and 5 for the rest of the season and the Raps will on a 23 game win streak. :)

    3. What you think of Hassan Adams or Will Solomon?

Will Solomon is by far the worst player on the team regardless of if he can hit a three in Sacramento

  101. uberathlete says:

I see the Raps finishing the year as a 6th seed at the most. 5 games under 500 and recent semi-close wins over subpar teams tells me it’s going to be a pretty tough climb to the playoffs. If Jermaine continues to progress and if CB gets comfortable in Triano’s system and starts producing again, then we’ll have a chance for a mini run here and there. Our rebounding is still a huge problem and that’s gonna lose us some winnable games. While our D is improving, we’re still gonna give up a lot of open perimeter shots. That’s just the nature of Triano’s defensive scheme. Against weak teams we’ll get away with it but against the big boys we’re gonna struggle because of it. Unless BC pulls off some miracle trade that improves our slashing game (or lack thereof) and perimeter rebounding, I’m afraid that we won’t get past the first round again. Pisses me off but I hope I’m proven wrong.

  102. RockTHECasbah says:

  104. John Gawley says:

I think that the raps will make a major trade by Jan 15th as far as Bargs goes I think he needs to get an attitude. The raptors don’t have aplayer that just gets it done. By this I mean diving for balls or just getting in somebodies face when need be…aka the new age enforcer in hockey who still can score but is the physical presence. I would love to seee bargs bulk up a bit and be that player.

  105. Ivan Georgiev says:

I think the raptors are improving with these 2 straight wins and O’neal is starting to flow well with CB and the rest of the team. I’d also love to go to a Raptor game seeing as I’d never been :)

  106. alitar says:

Raptors prediction: From here on out, the Raptors will have a winning record and make 6th seed for the playoffs.

  109. Sikandar says:

Prediction: The Raptors will get into the playoffs at the 6-8 position and the intensity of the playoffs will bring out their potential, and they will take the Celtics/Cavs/Magic to 7, a la the Hawks last season.

  110. Usuyami says:

Really hope I win! Never been to a Raps game even though I’ve been living in Toronto for all my life. I will definitely make lots of noise if I somehow get the tickets. Thanks!

  111. JK says:

Bargnani just needs to be more confident at all times even when things are not going well for him, it’s clear that he has all the talent, he just has to put it together.

  112. Syed says:

oooooh this game should be pretty good! Hope i win!

  113. Nathan says:

The Raptors will acquire Corey Maguette at the trade deadline and he will propel them to the 5th seed in the eastern conference!

  114. Steve says:

Hassan Adams is a good cheer leader… and probably a body to run in practice… can’t think of much more than that!

Hoping the Raps will make a couple tweaks before the deadline to make a push for the playoffs!

  115. constellation says:

I predict that the Raps will just barely make the 8th seed for the playoffs. Also, Bargnani needs to learn to add more arc to his shot, his shot is so flat, that the release has to be near perfect for it to have any chance. More arc should help with his shooting woes.

  116. Romel says:

    GO RAPTORS

  117. Olav says:

    Spread the Love

  118. BargnaniLebronlovechild says:

I say the Raps trade Hassan Adams for Superhead… at least if they slap her ass it would ignite some kind of fire. J.O. will continue his stellar ways and will make NBA All-Defensive Team.
As for Solomon, maybe if we just keep Bargs on the floor with him at all times, he will still feel like he is killing it in Europe…
As for Bargs, I say he gives an unintentional flagrant foul to KG in our next home game against Boston. An Italian fan will throw spaghetti, and it will be an epic brawl. Bargs ups his trade value and we get LeBron in return, while KG’s season is over, ending any title hopes for the Celts. Oh ya and J.O. will sit down with pursed lips.

He is having his 17th birthday on the 5th but doing something special on the day before, weekend before school would mean alot to him and would make one of the best birthdays for him and i’d really like to take him.

I’ve followed the Raptors ever since 1995, was even at the draft and even the first game at the Skydome. It was electric then and it’d be great to experience something like that again.

If i could win these tickets i’d be most appreciative and I’m sure my cousin will illuminated as well.

    Thanks

    3.
Hassan hasn’t got the playing time to prove anything. He’s a ‘practice player’. But obviously the coaches don’t feel that IF he plays that he’ll prove much. Regardless, he’d need more minutes than this to prove himself.
Will Solomon has embarrassed himself on a number of instances. I’d say he has the skills to play as a backup in the NBA. But he’s shown he doesn’t have it between the ears. He’s been rocked emotionally a couple of times and has become turn over prone. He’s not capable of playing in Coach Triano’s faster paced style.
    4. In one sentence, what does Bargnani need to do to fix himself?
BARGS NEEDS TO HAVE FUN WHILE HE PLAYS
    5. Get something off your chest…
I killed a man once when I was high on PCP at a rave in Malaysia. I cut his neck and held him till he bled to death. I’ve never spoken of it to this day. Phewf!!! That feels good to get that one off my chest.

    Hope I win those tickets!
    Pick my name B!!!

  129. Robert says:

Raptors will make the playoffs… Trust me they will, and possibly could go into the 2nd round.

Adams is just garbage, i don’t know why the raptors signed him, he can’t really do anything special. Keeps giving up turnovers.

Will Solomon has been great starting those games when Calderon was injured. nice job will.

One thing i’ve needed to get off my chest is for the Raptors to stop blowing leads especially double digit leads.

Haven’t been to a Raptors game before so it would mean a lot to me if i was given the opportunity to go.

  130. Jibran says:

Seeing Hassan Adams’ lack of neck, I say he mate with Chris Bosh’s Sister, and therefore their kids would have normal sized necks.

  131. IN BC I DISTRUST!

  132. disahstar says:

1.My prediction is that B.C. knows this team cant win a championship (we all do, the chemistry doesn’t seem to be there). Other Gm’s are low balling him right now but hes gonna improve the roster and Chris Bosh will retire a Toronto Raptor. oh yea, we will win championships with him.

2.I’ll take a picture at the game..

3.Hassan doesn’t fit, maybe he’s a good practice player tho cause Joey has stepped it up.
solomon needs to check himself, I cringe when hes on the court. he should be option 5.

4.Bargs just needs to play the game.

5.I don’t like solomon, play Roko. Roko will be an all star..

stop giving up open looks, we double way too much..

J.O. is playing great and will prove to be more valuable in the playoffs.

long shot = long rebound, please can all 5 players look to rebound.

Hard fouls, the no lay up rule needs to be in effect.

Jose is not driving as much as he used to.. needs to work on throwing alleys and not hesitate so much.

Chris Bosh is frustrated but hes still trying..
don’t turn your back on Bosh have patience, I bet B.C. went up to him
and was like “Chris, I have this offer on the table for you..”and he was like “nah, I’m gonna stick it out in Toronto.”(this is while the raps are slumping and the 2010 gossip started).

Voshkul was a good pick up..

Garbajosa and our bench was the reason we won the Atlantic.

Lay off Vince Carter, it was management that made him leave.. a la T-Mac. The organization was not run right and our media people are annoying.

leo rautins is annoying.. can we have an option like SAP where we hear on court chatter and the crowd (no commentating). I think they did that in Boston once. I’d pay for that, it would be way more entertaing.

  133. Shanda Gagne says:

Chris Bosh is my new God, take me to heaven baby.

  134. Pamela says:

Prediction: The Raps will trade for a veteran to play off on Bosh and O’neil in January. They will come back strong for the rest of the season and they will make the conference finals but they will either lose to the Cavs, Detroit or Boston by at least th3rd of 4th game. They will find their game by the end of Jan the beginning of Feb!

  135. Eddy Goh says:

trade barg’s & moon for tyrus thomas & Noah… have thomas play the 3 to help out defensively and noah to come off the bench to back up our j’o and bosh!

  136. Stef says:

The Raps will totally make a turn around this season (I totally hope). They just need to get into it again. They had a pretty good start this year and have done some soul searching since. I predict that they will make up for the bad games and win some really big ones!!! A play off spot is in the card ; )

So much so that I find myself yelling and getting into the game, and I’ve even been telling My Husband what time the Raptors play at!! I’m obsessed with basketball and the Raptors, Thanks for making me a fan :-)

  142. TG says:

Bargnani needs to practice taking 1000 shots a day like Kobe and Arenas. Then we’ll have Bargnani instead of Bustnani.

  151. Kristian V says:

Personally,Bargnani has to shoot less 3-pointers and has to post up more , because if he keeps on shooting 3-pointers you should just put me on and play. Atleast I can get boards.

  152. Nisha says:

THE RAPS…..my prediction is that this year will be an adjustment year and Brian Colangelo will make major changes for next year. My thoughts, I really like our team, individually the player stats are comparable with many of the all stars, why can’t we bring the individualism together…me to we! I wish I could talk to the team sometimes and let them know that they have many fans still behind them and to relax and get back to enjoying the game…it is the game they are privileged to play as a career, and fortunate enough to have the talent to be chosen from many competitors to play this fast paced, exciting sport! They need to fight for their city, and they need to beleve in themselves as much as we believe in them…YAKEEN (BELEIVE)….without belief in ourselves we will never be successful, it may take them a while to get into the groove of things, I believe enough to wait!!!!! Raptors are Toronto, Raptors are Ontario, Raptors are Canada, Raptors are basketball….YAKEEN!!!

  156. Nawal Damaj says:

  159. Ragun Visuvanathan says:

    1. They will make the playoffs.
    2.
    3. What you think of Hassan Adams or Will Solomon?
Adams is a funny guy and Will Solomon needs to step up.
    4. He needs to setup his shot and needs to box out other players.
    5. Raps need to win more games.

  160. Jonathan Coward says:

I think that Hassan Adams has the potential to be an explosivei wingman given the chance. Obviously nowhere near top quality, but he could be a good energy player off the bench if given a shot.

if someone were to put a spiderman sute and reppele from the sealing nd drop the ball into the net would he get a 50?
HE DID NOT DUNK IT!!!!!!!!!! i dont want to hear … “well he was so high above the net that he was able to wip it into the net…” SO… thats not a dunk… i agree that he was extremely high… but he did not dunk the ball… DUNK contest.. the concept is to slam the ball into the rim.. not trow it in… HE DIDNT TOUCH THE RIM and he should not have received a 50… oh and one more thing… people ive talked to said that they gave him a 50 because he did it in a video on youtube… SO… Jamario Moon did his dunk in a vidoe to… they didnt care …

  166. Abegail Vila says:
