So I taped the game last night (PVR) and I was thinking to avoid all my reading until I’ve finished watching the game. Can’t trust all these live-bloggers anymore. I get to half time and I’m feeling giddy.. could this be a win? Finally!! Now I actually *want* to read the blogs. So I take a peek at Roll Call. Shit! Altraps is pissed, we must’ve blown it in the second half! I pause the game in disgust and head off to bed.

Honestly looking at the footage again I think coach Triano knows what he is doing.. I think Sam Mitchelle didnt know who was our starters and who was our back end.. This starting line up was bad ass.. Bosh Oneal Calderon Moon Kapono … 2 big men , versatile great point guard, Moon our side show frak forward, and the best 3 pointer in the league Kapono.. I think the mistake was getting Bargniani and Parker to start..

I am not going to get excited just yet. With this win we can definatly start realizing that if we beat the Pacers and they beat Boston and Lakers if I am not mistaken.. What we are doing wrong is not playing in confidence.. Thats it!! We are money and we dont even know it (quoted by the movie Swingers) If I was Traino I wouldnt practice one day and take the squad to a confidence seminar..

Troy Murphy is averaging 10.6 rebounds a game… that’s more than Chris Bosh (a black guy, I might note), and good for ninth in the entire league.

20 is a big number but not really that surprising considering both these teams are playing uptempo. This season alone Murph had a 17 rebound game against the Lakers, a 19 rebound game against Atlanta and he grabbed 15 in his season opener against Detroit.

Considering you were watching on a Yahoo ticker you could have tried clicking on the dude’s name and checking his stats before dissing him.

I’ll take back the angle I used on when I generalized too much “socially” on the rebounding, but when you let Troy Murphy get 20 rebounds, that is a concern. Jeff Foster always by tradition found a way to get a double-double on the Raptors guaranteed.

I totally agree with you about Joey Graham. I’m not sure it is time to get him off the bench yet, let’s see if he is still hungry for more playing time. Can we be seeing the “Cito Gaston upping Adam Lind” effect here?

Does that mean cause I’m of darker skin I am genetically supposed to be a better rebounder than my melanin deficient peers? Yea the Raps are not a great rebounding team but don’t bring skin colour into this aka “the social construct of race”.

Missed the game but a win is a win hopefully they will build on this. I also heard on fan590 that as well as Joey is playing, putting him in the starting line up could end up like Bargnani did when he got starters minutes……..very badly. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it?

congratulations coach. the raps did what they needed to do. this indiana team may not be good, but they can score in bunches. I am glad we didn’t let their shooters get hot – except murphy. who is this guy?

This game is fools gold. I only watched the game on a Yahoo sports ticker, and I can see “the Matrix” through the Play-By-Play. It seems Granger is jacking up a lot of shots, in which he can slaughter us by trying to get to the line, and a lot of shots that Marquis Daniels would kill us on are just not dropping. I think we got a pity win for this one. It looks like the Pacers just tossed this one away or something. TJ was out most of the game, I might of thought someone injured him again. Good for Triano to take this one as a first victory at least.
