totally, raps are screwed, can't match up defensively, JO's a pussy...gonna lose by 23, minimum, tonight. time to blow it up & start over. remember...it's never too early to write-off a season (even if that season hasn't started yet).

Sweet Lou is going to torch us like he did last year. We have no one to cover:

Lou Williams
Andre Iguodala
Willie Green

Let's hope its one of those 3/12 nights and not 11/15.

So Hassan Adams is told to stay home and, according to Grange's latest From Deep, is in the Sam Mitchell doghouse. Who is our back up 2? Kapono? On Lou Williams or Andre Iguodala? Yikes

The only menacing thing JO will do is glare at somebody.

You'll see him knock somebody on their ass about as often as you'll see a guy not checking out the Dance Pak.

d279, I would love that. I would love to see some thuggery out of this Raptors squad. Nothing malicious, just a nice little, "Don't drive the paint or you'll pay for it" type physicality. Hasn't happened since Davis/Oak left town.

Sam - I think we need 16-18 points from JO if he's going to be a crunch time option. It's rare that an NBA player stays cold for three quarters and lights it up in the fourth. Most if not all crunch time scorers happen to be leading point-getters for their teams and the Raptors can't be an exception.

I would love for O.J. to park someones ass on the floor, and establish who owns the paint. An early season message would be nice for everybody else in the East to take notice.

We don't need 17 points from JO for him to be a crunch-time option. And I liked Rasho but JO on his game is way better. Rasho didn't intimidate in the paint. I think JO can still do that. Hope I'm right.

Sam, you're expectations of JO sound a lot like what we already had in Rasho. We need more than just defense and rebounding from O'Neal, he needs to average 17-18 ppg for us to be a legit twin tower threat. Anything less and the pressure on Bosh to provide scoring is too much. Remember the fourth quarters last year when Bosh was spent and couldn't get any calls because he was trying to draw fouls and the official didn't call anything. That's where JO comes in and makes post-up moves to help the offense. That's what Rasho can't do and O'Neal needs to.

Simmons is saying that to incite Raptors fans. We're too easy to get riled up.

Simmons can be "right" and Raptors fans can still be happy. Though BC is overpaying for the kind of production the team needs from JO, I think "all" the team needs from him is rebounds and defense. If he can be a poor man's Garnett on the defensive end and contribute a bit of scoring (12 points, lets say) on a consistent basis then I think I can live with JO over Gerald Wallace as the TJ Ford prize. In some ways it would be best if JO doesn't feel the need to be more than a 2nd or 3rd option on the offensive end. He's never been an efficient scorer from what I've read and seen.

And I think Bosh has his best season and hope he opens with a monster game. Grange said it yesterday, it just seems like everything is lining up for him this season.
